Scientists Protested MORE THAN 2 WEEKS AGO About Nuke Docs

Scientists protested Web site nuclear data:
report Sat Nov 4, 2:01 AM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Scientists at a U.S. weapons lab complained more than two weeks ago that captured Iraqi documents containing sensitive nuclear information were available on the Web site that the government shut down on Thursday, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

A senior federal official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Times that scientists at California's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory protested some of the weapons papers on the site to the National Nuclear Security Administration, an arm of the Department of Energy, in October. But the objections "never perked up to senior management," the Times quoted the official as saying. "They stayed at the mid-levels."

1. Interesting how these objections were essentially suppressed...
The priorities of some people are so twisted - makes me wonder...

2. Ah, but who listens to scientists?
They would only have an actual idea of whether this information was *useful in showing how to build a bomb*. Far better to listen to the *Rebublican congress* who *obviously* don't have any *naked political reason* to want it to look like their support of the war was valid.

:sarcasm: /off

This just kills me, not that Bush et als act in purely self-serving ways without caring who it could hurt, but that they do it so damn obviously and ignorantly. And that the objections never made it to the top is also just too damn sad--they can't hear criticism--not from experts, not from anyone.

3. Scientific community
I am glad to see that the scientists in the reality-based world protested these documents as being a threat to the security of our country.

It still confounds me that there are people(*bush et al) who live in the reality-free community. I don't know how it is done.

I guess the sun shines every day in their world. Where in my world it rains from time to time providing drinking water for both me and my plants. Reality works.

Reality-free would cook everything if the sun were to shine every day.
