Simple Message: HEY YOU! GET OUT AND VOLUNTEER
We must not get complacent about victory. I know a lot of us have already donate a lot of our time and money, but it will mean nothing if we can't get voters out to the polls.

http://www.democrats.org/a/party/a_50_state_strategy/50_state_turnout/

I don't normally ask for kicks and recs but this is a very simple line that should appear in the greatest pages.

also if you are worried about election fraud rather than turnout then help volunteer with Video the Vote:

cheers everyone, let's sprint to the finish

3. As Yoda said..."Try not. Do, or do not." As Captain Picard said, "Make it so"

And as Uncle Sam said, "Uncle Sam needs you!"

or as Smokey the Bear said, "Only you can prevent Neocons." OK, he didn't really say that, but you catch my drift.

WHO if not you? When if not now?

9. I've been running for 2+ years......
I'm looking for those that want to WIN!! Flew out to NM for Election Protection.... Kerry conceded before I woke up. I was soooo mad my Dad told my sis to keep me under control.

I flew back and am now a Los Altos housewife. I quit my job for the 2004 election.

I am sooooo jaded - but I will back anyone w/backbone!

10. I can't work phones, but I want to volunteer
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 06:15 AM by nomad1776
WHAT CAN I DO? I am morally opposed to bothering people on the phone. I don't like when people do it to me, so I can't do it to others. I am off on election day. What can I do? I live in NJ.

11. Call your local democratic party or the campaign of a candidate you like.
They are all dying for election day volunteers, I guarantee it. You can drive voters to the polls or work the polling sites by handing out literature to voters entering the voting area.

A note on the phone banking thing. I have worked many different types of phone banks this year. The calls I made from dem headquarters to registered dems were almost completely positive. People would check their caller ID see "Local Democratic Party HQ" on it and answer because they actually *wanted* to talk to me. I gave them info on the judicial races, checked registrations on-line, looked up polling locations, that kind of thing. It was actually kind of fun :) Calls to unaffiliated and persuadable voters were harder, and often not as welcomed by the recipients, but I feel they are an important part of campaign strategy.
