BREAKING NEWS
Updated: 1 minute ago

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's High Tribunal found Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity on Sunday and sentenced him to die by hanging. His half-brother, Barzan Ibrahim, was also sentenced to death by hanging.

Former vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan was sentenced to life in prison Sunday as verdicts were issued in the deposed Iraqi leader's trial.

Chief Judge Raouf Adbul-Rahman read the verdicts of the defendants in increasing order of importance.

Question...will he hang today or is he entitled to an appeal??

2. The worst trial in history
The worst pretence of a trial down to the date of sentencing. I hate Saddam but this trial was a violation of international law and a dangerous precedent.

5. I agree.
It was all for show, and had nothing at all to do with justice.

9. And under International Law...
He should have been tried in the Hague. Not in an occupied country with no established government, no constitution, and no law.

8. Hell, He outlived most of the lawyers & jurors in the trial!
What a fucking joke....he would be at the Hague at a REAL trial if they weren't afraid of what he would spill about his ex-biz partners Rummy, GHWB etc....

12. that's why trials of this nature SHOULD
happen at the Hague, not in an occupied country... or under the model of an International Military Tribunal

14. Yes, this amounts to victor's justice
Via a puppet government, put in power by people who killed as many (or more) innocents than the one being tried. It's a travesty.
