OMG!!! These BRAIN-DEAD SHEEP!!!!!! On ABC Good Morning America |
|
They have 3 groups of voters on.
1) Family with 3 sons in Iraq who are sick of the war and now are against anyone supporting it 2) A woman in Minneapolis with no health care 3) A family in Atlanta that's the epitome of the Fund-A-Mental cases
Family 3 is sickened by the Michael J. Fox ad. The weasely dad doesn't support embryonic stem cell research as he doesn't want to "cannibalize one group of humans to save another group". They're worried their kids are suffering damage to their moral values, too (well, no wonder, when the party their parents support are the most vile corrupt bastards in the history of america!!)

1. I See The Family's View Point |
|
I just disagree. I understand people who oppose embryonic stem cell research. After all, if you really, truly believe life begins at conception then embryonic stem cell research is performing medical experiments on a human being (and killing it). Now, before you flame me, I don't share this view and I think most people who claim life begins at conception have little idiosyncrosies or hypocrisies about it.
What ticks me off is they get all pious about being sickened by the MJF ad. You know, those people who say its "disturbing" and manipulative, etc. This from the same crowd who has been showing grossly altered (and just plain gross) pictures of aborted fetuses in an attempt to cudgel us into opposing reproductive rights.
Yeah, get down off high horse.

stem cell research. I make a point to found out where they are on the death penalty and the Iraq War, and about 99% of them have no problem with the sanctity of those lives.

This is their usual reasoning for this:
People who get the death penalty are 100% guilty People in Iraq are 100% guilty Embryos are 100% innocent
For the first 2, they may figure that some may be innocent, but they should have had a better lawyer or a better president.
The embryo's are a 100% innocent regardless of their genetic code, but as soon as the first breath is drawn, the genetic code is back in play when it comes to guilt...It's all pretty straight forward with these folks.

is why they think it is better that the embryo be discarded. Do they really think they will all be implanted in a volunteer?
Or is it that they think embryos will be made just for the purpose of stem cell research? I could understand their objection to that but that isn't how it works.
It just boggles my mind that they think throwing them away shows more respect to those cells than potentially curing and saving thousands.

9. Technically, isn't a sperm or an egg 'life', too? |
