NEW YORK - Just days from the midterm elections, the final round of MSNBC/McClatchy polls shows a tightening race to the finish in the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Democrats are leading in several races that could result in party pickups, but Republicans have narrowed the gap in other close races, according to Mason-Dixon polls in 12 states.

In Pennsylvania, incumbent Republican Sen. Rick Santorum is still well behind his Democratic challenger Bob Casey, with Casey currently ahead by 13 percentage points, 52 percent to 39 percent, with 7 percent undecided. In an MSNBC/McClatchy poll conducted two weeks ago, Casey was up by 12 percentage points.

3. Its possible to get a 'no change' Senate
Ohio and Penna go Dem. Repukes win in NJ, RI, Mt, Mo, Tn, Va. If it went this way, it would mean a one seat gain for Dems. After the election, Rummy resigns, chimpie appoints Lieberman as his replacement, and the repuke Ct governor appoint a repuke as Lieberman's replacement.
Net result: no change in the number of Dem vs repuke seats. Billions of dollars are spent on election that takes things right back to where they were.

4. Your scenario is as unlikely as
dems taking the Senate. It was always a real longshot that dems could wrest control this year. I'll be happy if we win 4 or 5 seats. I expect to win the House.

6. Thats been my take too.
At the end of the article it lays it out like this: There are 4 tossups and we have to win all 4.

5. hmm
That's an interesting scenario regarding Lieberman as Sec of Def.

I do think that Dems will do better than a one-seat gain though,
perhaps three or four.

I expect it's harder to make gains in the Senate right now, but
things -are- looking up a little bit for Dems.

7. These polls are meaningless
At this point in time the samplings are so low they are meaningless
It all depends on getting our voters to the polls. As far as congressional races in Indiana every single district needs you help.
So if you can spare an hour, two or 4 or whatever, please contact your local campaign headquarters..If you need the contact information just let me know,I'll get it for you.

Or here's a link...just scroll down
towards the bottom of page and find your district and candidates web site.
