DU RADIO--Tips for getting through to TALK RADIO HOSTS Mon. and Tues.

Who's interested in countering the talk radio blitzkreig of bullshit that we can expect Monday and Tuesday???

I've been dogging Neal Boortz for years and offer these tips in the hopes that others will do the same with their least favorite radio blowhard:


Neal Boortz is easy to get THROUGH to, and easy to GET TO as well. He's a soft target (in more ways than one.)

Here's how to get through and to Neal Boortz, whose show runs from 8:30-12:30 EST--
In Atlanta: 404.872.0750
Elsewhere: 1.877.310.2100

1. Call between 8:30 and 9:45 am, when his show is local. It's easy to get through and get on air. If he gets flustered early, every caller who gets through later will ratchet up his infamous sensitivity.

2. If you're more ambitious, call 10 or 20 minutes before 10 am, when his show goes national for two hours. That way you'll have a good chance of getting through, and can still speak to his national audience.

3. Tell the call screener, Belinda, that you disagree with Neal on whatever he's saying at the time. You may go to the front of the line.

4. Don't give up if you get busy signals. You can get through eventually.

5. Listen for Boortz to change topics. That's when they sometimes clear the lines and you can get through.

6. Don't be confrontational with the call screener. Her job is hard enough, and being an ass (prematurely!) will defeat your purpose.

7. At any point in your call, say "Good morning, Atlanta!" That pisses Neal off more than anything, as it reminds his small national audience that he's really a glorified local talk host with a few affiliates around the nation.

8. Start off with a reasonable tone and argument--THEN show him the disrespect and disdain he deserves. If you start off too aggressively, he'll just hang up on you.

9. Ask him why he viciously ridiculed Bethany Hamilton, a 12-year-old surfer girl who had her arm bitten off by a shark in 2003...if even two people bring that up, he'll have a stroke.

4. The last time DU went after Boortz, he whined and cried on air

about how people who called in to tie up his lines would have their phone service cut off.

What a crock. That threat showed that he was running scared and hoped he could intimidate us.

Fuck Boortz--he doesn't even believe half of what he says; he says whatever he needs to to build an audience, which is why he's betrayed libertarians and attached his lips firmly to Limbaugh's ass.
