"probably the most significant file of corruption" known in Washington
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:mSpyQ6vnXQ0J:www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4163810/+cheney,+bribe,+SEC&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1

this article is a great summary of what has happened and potentially will happen. Take note of when it was written and then look at the links I provide below

I am not sure if this "craigslist" is a trusted source or not but I found this quote to be quite telling on a brewing scandal that I have had the pleasure of following lately.

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/pol/229297832.html

A former Halliburton employee said in a filing with the SEC in September that he mistakenly received e-mails from a company attorney seeking information on how to evade federal investigators. The former employee, David A. Smith, said emails intended for David R. Smith, a vice president with Halliburton's tax group, were seeking information "on how to explain away the source of the bribes paid to Nigerian officials."

Although the scandal has received minimal attention in the U.S. media, a federal official told a French newspaper that it is "probably the most significant file of corruption" known in Washington.

Let the words in RED hang out there for a moment

If you would like to know more about Davis A. Smith you can read his Journal here:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/CorpGovActivist/12

I gave a link to part III but this story is now up to part VII

links to the story hitting the wires:

http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2006Nov01/0,4670,SECHalliburton,00.html

http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:W6FGsmIuHEMJ:news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061103/bs_nm/energy_halliburton_sec_dc+halliburton+tolling+agreement+nigeria+filing+sec&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2

maybe one reason for an exchange like this?

7. After following the Halliburton Threads a bit,
I have come to expect that there will be several more whistle-blowers.

Like David, I expect to see Bunnatine Greenhouse and others.

May even get to here testimony from Plame, Sibel etc.

Oh 2007 is going to be very interesting indeed.

28. Bubbling and Bubbling....under the surface because of Election Stuff...
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 09:36 PM by KoKo01
but Bubbling out here and there.

Cheney is going on another Duck Hunting Slaughter where he will bag a few hundred (his freezer must be overflowing or maybe he gives them to the poor for food) but Cheney is out there publicizing another of his "fowl slaughters" while his evil deads boil in that pot. :-(

The Most Corrupt American Presidency in History just manages to hobble along on stent filled feet. Or, maybe Cheney LIED about his Heart Attacks, too ...just to appear like a "non-President."

I would believe just about ANYTHING these days about this Corrupt Evil Empire..even that a VP who weighs in looking like over 300 lbs. could have had a heart attack in his 30's and two more after that and still be alive with "experimental stents" in both his legs.

Maybe Cheney's real health is the scam of the Century. He plays the "victim of massive heart attacks" when in reality the truth is different.

I have a couple of REAL Heart Attack survivors in my family and there just isn't any medical literature that would explain Cheney's physical appearance of a vibrant "large man" to go along with his health history..Sorry...it just isn't there in the literature or in the experience of those who've had similar medical conditions as to how that man gets around the way he does...even with a MedVac constantly on call (as has been reported.) Just doesn't happen...even for the rich and well connected. Your heart is your heart...whether you are rich are poor and the treatments might vary ...but not for the seriousness of what we've been told Cheney has been through.

when this story hits the major news. The ambulance will be very close to whisk Cheney to the nearest hospital.

8. I agree
I am beginning to think bribery will be just one of many that are coming out.And not the most serious of the charges either.

9. Will the media pick it up?
If so, you're correct - this is big. It should also clear up any confusion with Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame too.

10. AP seems to be on board
I seems like MSNBC may be too.
Of course the offshore press will probably be screaming it from the roof tops.Lets hope the sound carries across the water.
Secret recordings have been mentioned. They could be to good to be ignored, also.Lets hope they are of the 'go directly to jail-donot pass go...' variety.

hmm...
There has got to be SOME kind of law here (besides those of physics and nature)to which Bush's cabal is subject...

one has to wonder what this means in front of a French Court. Several of the AP articles have said that the French may seek indictments and/or subpoenas.

19. it doesn't matter - apparently the emails that are a main source of evidence
were/are backed up and/or copied - so Dick can shred all he wants - it is a done deal.

Anyone with questions are welcome to ask in this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2584101&mesg_id=2584101

For background, please see the Halliburton threads in my DU journal: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/CorpGovActivist AND/OR

Please read the MSM coverage so far: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=halliburton+nigeria+foreign+corrupt+david+smith

If you're a real glutton for punishment, here are the SEC filings I've made so far (read from the bottom up): http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?company=smith+david+allen&CIK=&filenum=&State=&SIC=&owner=include&action=getcompany

Finally, please bookmark these websites (the placeholders up now contain some information, and will be replaced with the live websites soon): http://www.HALwhistleblowers.org AND http://www.BushBunglesBrigade.org

(not to be confused, ever again, with David R. Smith, the as-yet-unindicted VP of Tax at Dresser, then Halliburton)
