The first and only republican phone message
was left on my answering machine today. It was from the oxycontin dough boy urging to vote for the "conservative team". Hilarious but gross. Overall, though, a pretty good election year as far as phone messages go with all the rest being from our party. How are the calls running in your neighborhoods?

1. If they aren't being selective about whom they robocall,
Edited on Sun Nov-05-06 03:04 PM by Eric J in MN
...then I hope disgust with Rush Limbaugh actually decreases Republican votes.

Do you know why they chose your number? (Do you live with a registered Republican or have you made a small donation to Republicans to get on their lists and watch them or anything?)

5. Maybe,
but I hope its a robocall calling everyone. Anything to motivate dems. Funny though, republicans quit calling my house in the 90's. They must have seen something such as party donation lists or something from households.

4. Got one from the wife of a Repub state house candidate,
telling me that her husband's views on stem cells had been misrepresented by the Dem candidate (who I'm helping and voting for). He (Mr. Republican) thinks it's OK to use the (useless) ADULT stem cells, so he isn't 100% opposed to science, so there. :P

Aside from that, it's been mostly Dem campaigns calling.

6. Good to hear.
The point of my post was to see how hard dems from different groups were working the lines. I've worked them in the past but not this year. Just envelop stuffing.

7. We've had calls from Laura Bush, Newt Gingrich, and George Bush.
:puke:

Also live calls from the Republican running for State House (he also came by our house, he is a neighbor) and the local Repub HQ. I've also gotten multiple push polls and robo calls about local Dem candidates and how they support "amnesty" or "raising taxes".

I've also had a ton of calls from the local Dems although they have stopped since I voted already.

My Republican registered husband hasn't yet so I expect to be badgered all the way through election day. In 2004, they kept calling for him up to 7:00 pm. Funny but the messages just don't always get to him.

The mail? I just throw it all away but we get everything from both sides.

9. You are lucky.
We finally had to shut the phone off last night. The calls were coming every 5 to 10 minutes (robo calls I assume). It has been this way for a week. Before that we had at least 5 a day. I will be so glad when this is over for a lot of reasons but mostly because I am sick of hearing the phone ring.
