Sunday Evening Dumpster Diving (The pre-election Friday Newsdump)

The Haggard story of course took hold and held over the final weekend before 06 elections.

Other than whatever can be left to say about that, I mostly expect an avalanche of heavily scripted clips and quotes of a perseverent Dear Leader Bush on the final laps of the campaign trail tomorrow- an all day onslaught with heavy audio on the cheering- and whatever else is in the final engineering stages meant to guide and keep our attention, as brought to us by our state run cable news media. What I don't expect come pre-election Monday (or any Mondays soon) is much attention to any of these stories (deposited late Friday or gleaned by vigilant DUers.)

To me, they are just a small time capsule-- news headlines frozen from just another single day under the Bush regime-- one that epitomizes the utter corruption of our current political system, one that highlights just a random smattering of just how much hangs in the balance if we in America don't choose to throw the RW Machine out of control of Congress on November 7.

2. Absolutely no argument here of the immense importance

of the Haggard story. It's not my intent to minimize it at all. It is quite huge. As I said, this is just a small symbolic time capsule of just another day of business as usual in the United Banana Republic of Bush.
