Kerry has my vote if he wants to run - Did you hear him on the |

senate floor. He addressed all the other dems that were saying to wait for a differtent moment or time to use drastic action. He basically said what do we have here. He stressed the time was now to stop this appointment and he realized it was an uphill battle.
As far as Iam concerned, I know he got robbed the last time. But at least he is showing me he is willing to fight for our rights. That is so much more than the other dems are showing.
God Bless John Kerry and Senator Kennedy

2. Too bad he wasn't willing |
|
to fight for our (and his own) rights --- election 2004. I have always liked Kerry, but he cut and run last election.
It's great he's taking the lead on this Alito thing.

6. If you kept up with the election reform you'd know that he is |
|
still fighting in Ohio. There is supposed to be a court date for August this month. I haven't heard anything different.

5. yes i heard it and i'll be damned , it was great to listen and watch it. |

as stated in another thread, i'm thrilled to be proven wrong regarding his committment to this fight. He returned from Davos and got on the floor and said much of what needed to be said in the limited time he had. no equivication, no fuzzy questions on the issue. and he spoke with not only great elequence that he certainly was always capable, but very precisely on the principles at issue.

12. Deb, you can be proud. Does me no good to email or write my |
|
senators here in MO. They are both so red and conservative. We do have hope it might change in 2008. However, I have seen some not so agreeable comments about Kerry, even on DU. One for example, about it is easy to do what he is doing knowing it won't work, he is doing it only for political reasons.
I say even if that was true, "so what". That is a hell of a lot more than anyone else is attempting. Also, Kerry is keeping his word about doing this if necessary. Senator Kennedy has gone to battle for those who had no one else to fight the battles for years.
I did hear coming home from work that Fienstein was changing her position and voting for the filibuster.
Good luck on being a delegate. By the way, Boston was one of our most enjoyable places to go.
Stayed downtown and ate about 3 times at Legal Eagle.

8. Kerry has done what I had asked. He has my vote. |
|
I have no patience for Dems who are waiting for the right moment. The "right moment" will occur when somebody else has already done the hard work. Then they'll swoop down for the photo opportunity and take all the credit.

:-) It's so nice to find out that while many people on this site continue to irrationally hate on Kerry EVEN NOW, a lot of you were serious and sincere when you said, "I'd support him if he did (insert hard-core, risky thing related to saving Democracy here), especially if we needed someone to take that action." Yay for sanity and yay for GOOD Progressive posters.

10. If the vote was today, he'd have mine too...too soon for that |
|
but I'm proud of the man I voted for, and grateful that SOMEONE is stepping out in front to try and save this country from total Right Wing Radical rule. He's taking a major political risk in doing this, and I'm one PROUD Kerry supporter today.
