<snip>

Q Can I also ask you, on Senator Kerry's comments, what is your reaction to the filibuster call by Senator Kerry, on Judge Alito?

MR. McCLELLAN: On his call yesterday? It was a pretty historic day. This was the first time ever that a Senator has called for a filibuster from the slopes of Davos, Switzerland. I think even for a Senator, it takes some pretty serious yodeling to call for a filibuster from a five-star ski resort in the Swiss Alps. (Laughter.)

Q But you know he's not there skiing.

MR. McCLELLAN: Les, I didn't ask you to yodel. I can hear you. (Laughter.)

Go ahead, Paula.

This is about us, our future, our kids future... I don't find it funny what so ever!

:grr:

2. No, it's not funny

But I do think Kerry would have made more of an impact if he had cut his trip short and flown back to Washington for the filibuster push.

8. Gave an impassioned speech to his collegues on Wed, Davos on Thurs
and back to the Senate on Friday. Must have a HORRENDEOUS case of jetlag.

So, were Albert Gonzalez and Chertoff there skiing and "hobnobbing" as well?

I hate the NYT, I hate Scott McClellan, I hate CNN. :nuke:

12. Stop falling for it
I'm tired of people even slightly accepting the crap shoveled at us by the right wing media.

He could have been ANYWHERE to call for the filibuster and they would have found something bad to say.

It is not respectful to mock Kerry but the press secretary does it with glee yet you accept his actions. . .just by justifying even a smidgen.

Stop tearing them down. Heck we had post after post yesterday that Kerry was too late. Post after post that the Senators sucked so why bother contacting them. . .these are the RIGHT WING TALKING POINTS and they work only if you let them.

Shut the bullies up!

6. When is our side going to get that this is not about issues for
most of them beyond the divisive superficial stuff Rove has convinced them is red meat. This is about moving the ball down the field. THey treat it like a frickin' football game. The "base" are the corporatists and this is just another hostile takeover. The goonsquads are the RR and the bubbas afraid of losing their guns or having to pay their fair share in taxes. The goalpost has a pot of gold beyond it.

We naively fight for principles.

7. Kerry's looking for the missing $9 billion from Iraq

which are probably in a Swiss bank account next to Cheney's war profits.

& Kerry is a lot closer to Iraq than chicken hawk Scott...

11. Not only closer when he was in Davos,
Kerry spent 12 days this month in India, Pakistan, Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Afghanistan doing his job as a member of the SFRC. He was in Davos as a member of the Finance committee and was one of 6 Senators representing the US. You don't go to economics conferences for fun - though Teresa was there as well. (I can't even picture Bush sitting for one speech - even if they gave him crayons.)
