5. If Working Assets is your long distance carrier - they are
NOT charging for the calls

http://www.workingforchange.com/activism/activism_process.cfm
<snip>
"Because appointments to the Supreme Court are for a lifetime, stopping Alito is definitely worth a phone call too. Pick up the phone and call your Senators at 202/224-3121 or 202/225-3121 to tell them you support Senator Kerry's filibuster. If you're a Working Assets customer, the call is free! (Not a customer? Check out the offer below!)"

message. Just said I am a Colorado constituent who would like to add my name to the list of those opposing the Alito nomination who would like to see Senator Salazar use the filibuster option. Gave name, phone number and city and left it at that. Hopefully they are listening to those messages!

After being transferred, I chose Option #2 (talk to an aide)

...busy signal twice...but got through to a Salazar aide on third attempt

Was immediately prompted "Are you calling about the filibuster?"

Gave city and support for the filibuster.

through on third attempt

Called using the 1-888-355-3588 and asking to be transferred to Ken Salazar's office...recording comes on giving options...chose to press "2" ...called back twice after getting busy signal upon pressing "2"...

Third time was the charm....got a live aide who immediately prompted "Are you calling about the filibuster?"

...expressed support for the filibuster.

96. Yeppers !
I spoke to a woman who said the senator will oppose Alito, but is against a filibuster. I asked, "Is there anyway I can get the senator to change his mind?" She responded, "Not at this time." I also left a message in the senator's home state voice mail.

She didn't say, "He has already made up his mind and there's no way he will support a filibuster." Granted, I'm looking on the bright side here. Obviously, I don't know what the senator is actually going to do.
