Sen. Conrad on Ed Schultz telling everyone how great Alito is.
Sited "polls" and his "trust" in Alito as his reasons.

Anyone who "trusts" these guys is either a liar or an idiot.

9. Just heard Ed a few minutes ago, playing a bit of Kerry's floor speech
saying that, rather than speaking for political gain, it sounds like Kerry's speaking from the heart.

I didn't hear the Conrad interview, but Ed seemed to think Conrad was still undecided. Ed also said he'd like to see a fillibuster, but that he didn't think we had the votes.

He also said that the Conrad interview would be up on www.wegoted.com later on today.

12. Conrad said "undecided" on the vote and a definite NO on the filibuster
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 07:27 PM by Dr Fate
Or at least that is the way I heard it.

Conrad spent a lot of time talking about Alito's "qualifications" and about how "Republicans confirmed Ginsberg"- basically Repub. talking points.

Ed did go on to say he supported a filibuster, but would not say that to Conrad and he really did not challenge him on it.

And, he gave Kerry props.

I find Ed's show entertaining and I like it, but he goes soft when interviewing DLC types...

15. And he's a "Hillary Democrat" to boot
Eh, he's more middle of the road than folks would like, but I am glad for the alternative to listen to. He has his moments.

Heh, nice avatar, btw.

23. Did he tell Conrad it was Orin Hatch who suggested Ginsburg to Clinton?
Do either of them even know it?

Hatch actually bragged about it in his book. Clinton had never even heard of Ruth Bader Ginsburg before then. And sixty of Clinton's judicial nominess never even got a hearing from Hatch's Judiciary Committee.

It's time we put up a fight against this "patriotic bullies." As Molly Ivins said this morning on Washington Journal, folks kicked daschunds during the World War II, but they did not kick German shepards who would bite back.

11. He doesn't know it, but Ed opens most of his shows with RW talking points.
He's not a sharp guy; just a guy doing business on the radio.

Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 07:30 PM by Dr Fate
I have to admit that I find him to be a pretty sharp guy myself.

Ed gets on my nerves with his DLC leanings, but I kind of like his approach on some things...

16. Well, then so is Will Pitt.
Just a difference in opinion.

I did appreciate that he gave Kerry props. And he gave Gore props after his speech. It's a mix with Big Ed.

19. If saying the fillibuster is dead is a RW talking point
then our own Will Pitt is also spouting RW talking points, as he's also saying that the fillibuster is dead. That's what I meant.

20. Why not face the truth concerning Ed Schultz
Ed isn't a Democrat now.....never was a Democrat....never WILL be a Democrat. Ed Schultz wouldn't make a decent pimple on a good Democrat's ass. Ed is in it solely for the money and doesn't really give a rat's ass if the Democrats pull out of this tailspin we're in or not. There I said it! Flame away. I'm goddamn tired of phony-baloney Democrats!

Let me be fair to Ed and clarify that it was CONRAD who said these things, not Eddie.

24. Someone else to target for defeat.
You just can't ruin lives and not expect someone to at least try to ruin yours. I just watched the news tonight (local) about how they can't allow poor autistic children under social security disability anymore in the state. I dedicate myself to ruining the politcal careers of these vipers and snakes. I dedicate myself to ruining their lives as they do others.
