Why did Olbermann just paint tomorrow as "down to the wire"?
Too close to call, Missouri, Montana, Maryland ect. According to everything on DU, it should be a huge victory and we should have the champagne chilled. Whose reality is real here? I'm feeling queasy.

1. Better to keep the voters motivated...
...people who think it's a shoo in might not go to the polls.

7. Exactly
we can't take any chances of people thinking we are going to win anyway so they might as well stay home. Better the surprise wins tomorrow night.
24 hrs from now we should have some results in!

No complacency. Keith's right, it IS down to the wire.

5. I still don't think Maryland will be close
Cardin +5 imho, Steele is just the big black republican media darling right now. His support is trumped up, it doesn't exist. Missouri and Montana will be closer but I feel we have the momentum in both states and will win.

12. I agree with you - no Steele win in MD.
Not gonna happen. They won't endorse the Bush agenda.

8. Because those races are too close to call.
The House looks good, but per everything I've seen/read, there are a few races up for grabs still and whoever wins will determine the make-up of the Senate. The fat lady isn't singing yet!

11. It Is Down To The Wire, That's Why.
If anyone here thinks victory is a guarantee, they know little about politics. I'd say the House is a relatively safe bet, but the Senate is most definitely coming down to the wire and looks more and more like it will be quite a challenge to overtake. We can do it of course, but we're really gonna need one heck of a GOTV effort in order to make it happen. Even with the House seeming safe, even that is not a certainty, so we need a great GOTV effort there as well.

Time will tell and time is short. We will all know one way or the other soon. For now, just keep doing what you can to get people to the polls.

13. Check your polls for Missouri, Montana, Maryland, etc. AGAIN.
Then get back to me about the Senate races and tell me it isn't close.

Please - let's assume we are going to need every vote - remember 2004!

16. The house should be a blowout.
The Senate will be extremely close, way too close to call accurately. And don't forget the Lieberman factor.

17. This is Keith's way of GOTV. We cannot afford to be complacent and overly sure of the results.
we must vote. each and every one of us. We must remain motivated. no victory parties until victory is won.

20. No I most definitely do not
That's what I see HERE. I'm in the Diebold doomed camp but keeping it to myself, but you had to ask! That's why I thought I'd see more of a Dems up message from Keith according to what I see here. And it was much more downbeat. "It can go either way!" Well, yes..I think I've heard that for the last five years. Not what I wanted to hear from the only political show I can stand to watch.
