COLORADO SPRINGS - The scandal surrounding dismissed Pastor Ted Haggard was the subject of a radio talk show Monday, hosted by one of Haggard's closest friends.

Dr. James Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family, addressed the subject on his daily radio show.

He also talked about the effect the scandal is having on churches nationwide.

"I reach out through these microphones and put an arm around Ted. He is my brother, my friend and as I said in the press release, he will always be my friend," Dobson told his listeners.

Dobson started his show by saying, "I'm sure many of our listeners are aware that one of the most influential ministers in the entire Evangelical church, Reverend Ted Haggard, the pastor of New Life Church, a huge church in Colorado Springs, has experienced a moral failure."
