Anyone else anticipate difficulty in sleeping tonite?
Honest-to-Pete! I had such high hopes 2 years ago this time - I'm going to purchase a bottle of champagne tomorrow and hope to be able to pop the cork this time tomorrow eve.

1. Nope -- though I don't know if it will be 'sleep' as much as 'unconsciousness'

I'm just going to keep pouring Jimmy and Guinny's until I get sleepy, or I wake up in my chair tomorrow morning, whichever comes first.

5. Honestly -
I have a lot of nervousness over this.

After watching "This Week" on Sunday morning - with the discussion starting out on the 'tightening' of the polls, my stomach sank. I can just see Rove's handwriting all over this.

2. For me it will be tomorrow night
I'm betting it will be the wee hours of the morning or even a day or two before we know for sure.

Then again given the penchant for lawsuits it could be weeks........

3. After 4 straight cycles of disappointment, it's hard to get more than cautiously optimistic
I wan't to get excited and hope for a tidal wave but my experiences since 1998, when I first started actively volunteering, have conditioned me to think of the millions of ways we could still blow this thing.

If it's any consolation to people, this is the exact feeling I had about the St. Louis Cardinals during the baseball playoffs right through the end of Game 5 of the World Series, which ended quite happily for me. :-)

If anyone is wondering why I considered 1998 a disappointment, it's because we lost a Senate race here in Missouri to Kit Bond that we had high hopes for early on in the election cycle.

6. I honestly hope not! I've got a very full day tomorrow and I need to be
alert until the last person who has called needing a ride to vote has been picked up and taken to the polls to vote. I've had 3 glasses of wine to ward off the lack of sleep! I'll be a nervous wreck tomorrow, not just about TN, but other states as well!

Good luck to all!!!

Peace and hope for good returns tomorrow night.

8. No, I'm quite optimistic.
This will sound strange, but I live in south Florida and on the news last night they made a big deal about the huge numbers of early voters that were lined up for blocks in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. When they showed the clip, most of them looked like democrats to me, Berkenstocks and all  .
I know that sounds silly, but it really got me energized!

But I have to be up early to hold signs at the polls, so after Studio 60 it's off to bed.

10. I almost feel like tomorrow is some kind of holiday
and even better, I don't have to go to class or teach the rest of this week! ! ! (Grad student and meeting out of the city on Wednesday). So it's a little silly, but I'm trying to think of some ways to celebrate while being online tomorrow. . .and yes, I may struggle a little with sleep tonight. . .but I'll be at those polls early in the morning ! ! !
