My cool GOTV idea-- radio stations
I just called and sent e-mails to my local radio stations (rock and urban formats) with some very specific info on voting tomorrow. I listen to the DJs saying things like "go vote tomorrow, people," but some of the listeners need a LOT more guidance, such as when, where, how, etc...

So I called and sent e-mails with some VERY specific info. Just in case you want to do something similar on election day, be my guest and crib off what I sent in. You'll have to tailor whatever you send in to fit your local facts. But you get the idea...

Here's my e-mail to the "Party 104" station.

Hi Party People!

I'm a Harris County Election Judge who listens to your great show. Please urge your listeners to go vote on Tuesday. If you don't vote, it means you agree with what's going on and don't think we need a change.

Polls are open Tuesday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. If you are a registered voter in Harris County and you don't know where to vote, you can find out on a website called HarrisVotes.com. Hit the button that says "2006 Election". You can put in your name and address and it will tell you where to vote. Or else you can call the Harris County Registrar at 713-368-VOTE.

If you are a Fort Bend County Voter, just Google "Fort Bend Polling Locations." The first thing that comes up is what you need.

If you are registered in your county and you have misplaced your voter registration card, you don't need it to vote. Just bring your driver's license.

If someone tells you that you've come to the wrong polling location, find out where you're supposed to go, then go there and vote. If someone offers you a provisional ballot, just say no. Provisional ballots basically are not counted.

So thanks for publicizing the election! I'm going to be working the election all day and night, but if you need to reach me with any questions, I can be reached on my cell at (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
