Spineless Dems? What about spineless Republicans?
We bash our own for making individual decisions and being independent, but what about the GOP?

They are unanimous, with the possible exception of Olympia Snow...

Who are the ones with the spines?

1. No kidding...
I don't see loud-mouthed bullies as courageous. They are spineless, treasonous rat bastards who DO AS THEY ARE TOLD! Period.

2. It appears as if "group think" has infected our politics
both sides are guilty of it but none more so than the republicans!

4. Very good point. We need to be calling more Republican leaders.
For those Democrats in states with Republican Congressional leaders, I hope you are calling them. They need to hear from us as much, if not more than our Democratic leaders.

5. They've sold their nation, their people, out to everything antithetical,..
,...to democracy. They only care about power and profiteering. They don't give a damn about strengthening our democratic institution because that takes dollars out of their pockets and spreads power to the people.

They SUCK!!! :grr:

Here is a list of all of th republicans who have voted for Bush one or more times in the last Congressional session.

chafee 40/140 = 28.5%
snowe 30/140 = 21.4%
deWine 30/140 = 21.4%
voinovich 20/140 = 14.4%
sununu 20/140 = 14.4%
colins 20/140 = 14.4%
craig 20/140 = 14.4%
kyl 10/140 = 7.3%
mccain 10/140 = 7.3%
martinez 10/140 = 7.3%
gregg 10/140 = 7.3%
burr 10/140 = 7.3%
Murkowski 10/140 = 7.3%
frist 10/140 = 7.3%
hagel 10/140 = 7.3%

That's right...between all of these Repuke senators, they have COLLECTIVELY only voted against Bush 24 times. The rest are all zeros.......39 of them.

In contrast, here is how our worst Democrats vote under the same scale. (I am only picking the ones equal to Chafee and below).

Carper (Deleware) - DLC 28.6
Lincoln (Arkansas) - DLC 21.4
Nelson (Florida) - DLC 21.4
Salazar (Colorado) - DLC 21.4
Pryor (Arkansas) - DLC 17.9
Landrieu (Louisianna) - DLC 14.3
Nelson (Nebraska) - DLC 0.0

Nelson is basically the same as the cowardly 39 Republicans who vote in lock-step with Bush.

Here are our best Senators:

Harkin (Iowa) 89.2
Boxer (California) 85.7
Lautenberg (New Jersey) 85.7
Akaka (Hawaii) 78.6
Durbin (Illinois) 78.6
Kennedy (Massacheusetts) 78.6
Kerry (Massacheusetts) - DLC 78.6
Corzine (New Jersey) 71.4

Basically, none of our Senators cvote against Bush 100% of the time.

Just part of a machine. Torture? - okay fine, shut down real Katrina probe? - fine, shut down 9/11 probe? - fine, corruption? - fine, tribalizing the American population? - fine?, power for elites? - fine, no sacrifice for wealthy while the workers fight inflation on their own and keep the stock market going? - fine, all children kicked out if they make our no child left behind numbers low? - fine, no health insurance? - fine.
