How are you going to celebrate if we do well tonight?
I'm going to sing a patriotic song and say the pledge, in honor of the country we have taken the first step towards restoring.

Then I am going to call my girlfriend and share the joy. Then go find a nice big lefty gathering and party the night away.

How about you?

1. I'll pop open my sparkling grape juice...
I'll have a toast with my husband, then I'll play "The Best of Springsteen" real loud and dance around to it (as much as that's physically possible).

He and I will need to get acquainted, since I expect we will enjoy a long and fruitful correspondence about exactly how he is accountable to me and my fellow citizens.

10. My neighbors
always throw an election night party with a huge bonfire and lots of good food and bring your own champagne. We hope to celebrate this year, instead of commiserate.

13. Not sure
My preference would be to get hammered and just whoop and holler with the other local Dems. But I have to go to work tomorrow morning. And I can't put off the bender til this weekend because I have to be at my nephew's 1st birthday party. Which is WAY more important than drinking anyway. So I guess, in terms of celebrating, I'm going to have to settle for partying a little bit tonight and then spending all day tomorrow looking smug. :)

16. By mostly just taking it all in, but I'm also going to tell this one Hannity lover
who's an acquaintance of mine that the reason Republicans lost is because anyone with half a brain who's listened to pukes like Limbaugh and Hannity all their lives finally got so sick & tired of their bullshit that they voted Democratic. While it won't be true that they did that, I'm gonna do my best to make him feel like he's in the minority, a minority of dumbasses. Fuck him.

Mostly, though, I'm gonna sit there with my wife and just talk about how the country just changed for the better and discuss all the ways that things are going to brighten up in the near future.

19. I haven't yet dared to think about it much.
I swear I jinxed Kerry two years ago by buying champagne to pop when Bush conceaded. So if we do pull it off, and they manage not to steal this one, we'll walk over to the grocery store and buy a pre-chilled bottle of bubbly to celebrate. (If there's any left ;) )
