What's with the drugstory cowboy look on this Imus asshole? I can never stand it, looks more like Brokenback mountain, what is he about 300 years old and he still thinks he's Robert Redford..

Great big old brick room, no straw and peanuts on the floor, no antler chandeliers?

Mouthy shit isn't he? A real cowboy wouldn't walk within ten feet of this guy.

I want ELECTION REPORTS, not cud chewing, whatta JOKE.

1. Isn't he the biggest freaking narcissist...
has the nerve to castigate Craig Crawford for not voting since 1988, but chooses his candidates like Santorum b/c of what this guy could do for him personally. And he likes him as well!

I knew Don many years ago when he used to come to Atlantic City and do a show outside Convention Hall for a few days every summer. It's hard to believe that this old piece of shit was once a young piece of shit.

Where can you buy a MULLET WIG these days?

He's backing InSanatorum? Man he IS a freak.. could use a little saddle soap on that face, looks like someone's been sitting on it all the way to Kansas city :)

Who the hell watches/listens to this guy? I know a lot of radio guys are in love with themselves but this guy looks like he can wait to get home and get a hold of himself..

5. I can see you don't pay much attention to this asshat...
I watch him every AM as I gear up for my day in the trenches digging holes and filling them in my dental office. He has great guests, his News guy is terrific, gay guy who plays the piano and has just this terrific sense of humor and beats the crap out of Imus whenever he can. Imus is a very complex asshat and if you're into the DSM IV or psychotherapy, he's a great subject. Complete lunatic and a perrennial moran.

Charles McCord is a grade-A re-puke-lickin' kool-aid chuggin' freeptard. He's not gay. He is one hell of a pianist, but aside from that he's one ugly piece of work. Well, an ugly piece of something, anyway. He's on up there with Bernard the bald-headed nazi stooge producer on the evil bastard scale.

7. With all due respect, F-o-C:
See mys post above: he really has great guests and they do open up for him. That stiff Chip Reid from NBC News was on one AM, and it turned out that he was the funniest guy I've heard in a long long time. You'd never know that in amillion years watching his delivery. Problem is, Imus is a pure narcissist politically and some of the guests have to pay homage to him even though they clearly don't want to. Then they blast him at a later point in the discussion. Fun to see how the pros turn the tables on some of these RWers.

He is very hard to look at...Howard STern used to do an unmerciful critique of him.

26. Go change your avatar to I VOTED
then when you come back, worship your elders :)

Sorry, I've spent the last 6 years sacrificing my life to fight these bastards, spening my whole mortgage running Takebackthemedia.com, making over 50 flash political attack ads FOR FREE, about three films, worked with MOVEON, etc and been here almost since the DU started.

I have a problem with what looks like the "drive by" mentality of some newer folks, when the DU used to be filled with a LOT of deep thinkers, ex CIA (I suspect) PROS from Nam (I was drafted in 1971) etc..

I just get tired of being treated like I fell off the fucking turnip truck yesterday, and I'm not bragging about my accomplishments, which there's no room to list here, but I AM proud of them, and don't like being talked to like a 6 year old.

THanks for voting, I helped earn you that right during NAM, and THAT gave me an attitude TOO :)

That's what I'm complaining about, he SHOULD have an antler chandelier, I love them personally..

Spent ten years in Alaska, gold mined in the bush for two of them, and spent another two summers looking for Uranium by chopper and saw LOTS of antlers, one place we camped in there were literally THOUSANDS littering the ground, one every few feet or so, all caribou..

I watched one day as we jetted along in a Hughes 500D over the tundra as caribou started migrating, and soon I saw NOTHING but CARIBOU from horizon to horizon for about 20 minutes, the entire EARTH WAS ALIVE... spiritual stuff.. writing a book about it now, and even have some Hollywood interest in it :)

Yeah I'd love to have a room like that, very cool my friend, and HAPPY Takeback AMERICA DAY to you too!

I had a pal who was a dentist when I worked in the VA where I took care of about 300 vets who'd been scared shitless by Nam after I got out of the USAF in 73 or 74, and he was NUTS, the good kind :)

I'm not one of those nitrous guys. Truth be told, there really weren't all that many in my day at least. Standard-issue fellow who didn't want to spend his entire life with MD's for a variety of reasons. Good with my hands for a Jewish guy - even did much carpentry as a kid - and like projects. This election is my most recent project.

good luck to us!

You sound a LOT smarter than some of the dental folks I've known.. as far as I heard they had the highest suicide rate outside of air traffic controllers.. something about feeling like you're hurting people all day, even though you are SAVING their health..

I don't envy you and admire your bravery. I've smacked dentists before for hurting me, got some viking in me and Irish, bad combo, my people in the old days, if they didn't get good service they just CUT OFF YOUR HEAD with a big sword :)

So, You think that Ford will win? I do, the poll numbers are too wonky.. when one shows his 20 points behind and another shows him within 3 points then I actually start to feel like we're going to KICK A LOT OF ASS TODAY!

37 in the House, and just ONE as allowed by Diebold to give us a majority.

They may WANT to have the Left get in now, be opportune, then they can blame it all on US when 08 comes around. Rove has ten year plans, though he seems to be slipping lately.

What do you think? Your project :)

32. Suicide rate is high
b/c it is an extraordinarily difficult field with a multitude of problems which the lay person cannot, and this is with all respect to all of you, conceive of. It has little or nothing to do with pain, believe me. It is not an issue so much anymore and quite frankly, I've hurt very very few people badly over the years. There are issues which wouldn't make sense unless you're trying to do your job right, and these don't translate well into populist-speak. I could go on all day, but that's unnecessary. Perhaps another time - I've led a few threads here over the years on denitst and dentistry, but somehow, today's not the day. This complexity, BTW, is true for many if not most, fields of endeavor, I'm not trying to make myself out to be special. Really.

I think anything's possible today...I reacall 1986 and the Rethugs losing the Senate unexpectedly. We shall see...I'm nervous as all hell.

33. Sorry to bring it up
not good election time stuff, my apologies, I'm one of those guys that will talk about anything any time and it's both a gift and a curse..

My job at the VA was to rehabilitate vets that had gone mad. I would get them all glasses, new teeth, a suit, a job, a halfway house, sent them out with some funk in their step and two months later a gurney would deliver my prize, a mess, no glasses, no teeth, dirty, etc..

I never got one guy to make it. Always felt bad, but also as hard as I tried I realized it wasn't really up to me, and that the system and WAR had damaged them so badly that sometimes you can't fix 'em. Another reason I hate war, even tho I joined when drafted.

Enough of that, thanks for serving people, what you do is important.

I STILL say 37 House and ONE EXTRA Senator, FORD, from the backlash of Ads where the KIDS are saying, "Hey Senator, CALL ME" while referring to REPIGS, Brilliant ADS!

It's all vibrations man, YOU are in charge of them, as long as we don't bullshit, it ALL works out :)

I get that way from staying up too late every night while I try to finish a book I've been working on for Five Years now :)

Getting really close so I get into characters and then come over here and post, like an actor still in costume, and that confuses people.. for instance, right now I'm a Mime who's been trapped in a MIME HOTEL, the latest invisible Box designed to Trap MIMES without killing them..

MIMES check in, but they don't check out :)

I should stop typing and just watch the elections now before I get TOO wierd for general consumption, but thanks for the compliment, if I can translate that into my book I should be doing pretty good!

39. The real story was when I went to the dentist
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 09:04 AM by symbolman
and I knew all about how Nitrous worked, and REQUIRED IT, and the aide was setting me up, turning dials (so that you get SOME oxygen in the nose filler), and I knew how the nose thing worked, if you got TOO wasted your mouth would automatically fall open and you'd suck AIR and wake up Eventually..

Well, whenever the aide walked out of the room I would lean over and give the Nitrous dial a little bump, and he came in and out about 5 times, so pretty soon I was WAAAY out there in LALALAND..

The last thing I remember as TRAINS WERE CRASHING IN MY HEAD, was the actual Dentist walking it and looking at the dials and saying to the aide, "jesus christ! What are trying to DO to this guy, KILL HIM?"

I found that incredibly funny for some reason :)

I'm stupid that way.. we just went to a Ralph Steadman book signing and got him to sign my son's DOC helmet ( a helmet kids wear to round out their heads, my son's was a little wonky, just fine now, and no brain problems, just more of a potatoe head, he's normal now, whatever that is) and Ralph thought that was a Real Gonzo thing and loved it.. being as my kid's middle Name is "Hunter" I think he will enjoy having a "disability" turned into a cool art object related to his name as he gets older..

Plus I got to talk to Ralph Steadman about doing the cover for my book, since it's a mix of Hunter S. Thompson, Salinger, Hemmingway, Bukowski, etc..

I think he's going to do it, and with that and another high profile environmentalist actor who's done 50 movies possibly writing a forword, I think I will be IN with this book.. it's a book for the times, got it all, at least that's what my wife says, and she's NEVER been wrong, seriously :)

47. Yeah it was really cool
it was in LA at the BookSoup store on Sunset Strip, and they had whiskey all over the place (I think he has his own brand of whiskey now, wasn't sure if I heard that right, there was a big crowd), and he was wearing Hunter's hat. We met with some pals of his afterwards outside headed for his hotel room before he headed for san franscisco the next day, and they were going to pass on the word about the book if he was too drunk to remember.

I walked into the place and he's wearing a coat with CARIBOU all over it, and since my book is basically about the Caribou in the ANWR in Alaska during the late 70's when I was flying all over that place, crashing and being chased by bears and shit, I figured that WAS A SIGN :)

I just read all about his love for wine, and his wine books, hadn't known that side of him, tho I DO have an original t-shirt that he designed for Hunter's line of Beer, a collectable now since they took the "NO SHIT" off the shirt and the beer labels, but my shirt has it :)

Yeah I read the Curse of Lono when I was living in Maui back in the 80's when it came out. SO he's done Hawaii, where I live now, and many other places, but NOT Alaska, so it's gotta be in the STARS, eh?

I told him about the book, and that I wouldn't want him to waste his time if he thought it was a dog so of course I'd send him a copy first and see if he's intersted, but I'm pretty sure he will be, the Hollywood connection said that what I'm writing hasn't been done before in the way I'm doing it, and will have great social value, could even change minds, a lot of them.. might even SAVE ANWR, which in a way is what I want to do..

and so does Ralph, told him "We're going to save the Caribou Ralph, you and me .." :) He agreed, drunk off his ass, pretty funny.

Wish I had known I would have got a copy of his latest book signed for you, it's all about his love for Hunter and WHY Hunter killed himself.

If you recall Hunter S. Thompson killed himself on President's Day, and it was IN PROTEST. He simply couldn't take BUSH any more.

BUSH KILLED Hunter Thompson. For that I will revenge him with a book that will hopefully rock the environmental movement.

Life is funny, eh? A lot of funny shit happens to ME anyway :)

Star fucker.. maybe just an ego thing, maybe he DOES know a lot of people..

Though publicly admitting your lips are grafted to an insane person like InSanatorum seems a bit over the top.. then he's talking all about how he was trying to SAVE Kerry from himself..

"Gotta stop making fun as an Ivy League guy, doesn't work on Bush.."

News flash, Bush IS an Ivy league GUY, IMUS. :)

42. How does someone
become such a narcissist when he has absolutely nothing to be narcissistic about?

44. Imus has a face for radio. There are probably some buttons on
your remote that can help. I like the one that says "OFF" myself, and figure the internets are a much better source of news.

45. I saw that buffoon this AM
IMUS looking stupid is a given but thankfully we are usually only treated to seeing him sitting down...that strutting around this AM as he went to vote was just pathetic. Does the man own a mirror?

49. If they call into Imus as "regulars", vote them out so Imus will retire
they're as shitty a collection of politicos as exists: Kerry, McCain, Santorum (didn't know about that one-figures), Lieberman.
As long as they call in to get him off egotistically, he will continue to stink up the airwaves

talentless old fool
