"The democrats picked up a few seats, not as many as expected because...."
What lies will we hear on the news tonight to explain away the days' election thievery?

7. A Boston dipshit, I mean political analyst is pulling that ...
he sighted the upswing in points for the repugs as proof.
John Keller: http://cbs4boston.com/kellerblog

Of course, Kerry could create a cure for cancer and he'd try to bitchslap him for not making it cherry flavored.

18. He is such a tool.
I wrote a letter to WB56 (before his switch to WBZ) to comment on the coverage of a story and off-handedly mentioned hime and he respinded that it was me who did not know what I was talking about. He is such a pompous little man.

36. He actually can be fair.
While I still think he is a tool, he is in favor of equal marriage. By that view alone, I will tolerate him. His insight is often very good and a fair number of his points are valid.

12. They were sold on ebay!
Dems did win the offices but the actual seats (chairs)were sold on ebay by the money hungry republican bastards who would sell their mothers. We will have to find new chairs for the Democratic majority in Jan. We should do it anyway since I wouldn't want to sit in 6 year old Republican stink!

16. Odd wording in Ap Article this A.M

http://apnews1.iwon.com/article/20061107/D8L87QO80.html

<snip>

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican control of Congress was on the line Tuesday in an election colored by voters' dismay over the Iraq war and misbehavior in Washington.

<snip>

In a climate inhospitable if not toxic for incumbents, Democrats hoped finally to answer the rout that drove them from legislative power in 1994. Even their opponents conceded Democrats were certain to make gains and, despite brave words for public consumption, Republicans worried that control of the House would slip from their hands.

20. That is odd. Dismay? Misbehavior? They make it sound as if the
Dem challenge isn't really all that serious. But I suppose it's tough to write an article about something that hasn't even happened yet, without sticking your neck out too far.

Welcome to DU, BTW. :hi:

27. IA with you I despair of the American people of today if they don't
trounce the rethugs now. We need a dem congress if for no other reason that to stop them. The latest thing about DHS trying to assert authority to prevent people from leaving the country - if that doesn't scare them, nothing will. That's a sure sign of a police state - next we'll have to get exit visas. They've already done the other badges of police states - asserted the right to unlimited detention based on untrammeled executive authority, the right to search without judicial oversight, etc.

26. It will be spun pro-Republic unless we pick up 100 seats
We'll hear stories about how privately Democrats had planned on picking up 100 seats in the House and 12 seats in the Senate, and are personally devastated that they only picked up half that amount. Republic insiders felt the same, and are now elated. They will say the last minute push by President Bush shows that his popularity is surging throughout the country.

29. People streamed down from the hills.
These people never respond to early polling or exit polling, especially in the rain. Initially, they were upset by the Iraq war, concerned about Social Security, worried about the economy and outsourcing of jobs, nervous about the Constitution going into the paper shredder, but finally decided that even more important is the fact that John Kerry can't tell a joke properly.
