TV in the Green Zone

It is my understanding that the military has the TV's tuned to only Faux News, in Iraq.
I lost the article and I believe I read that the same is true for common areas, on bases, here and around the world.

All military common areas usually tune their tv's to Fox News. Gym facilities, Ops Centers, Intel Centers, etc. Bad data in, bad data out.

2. Things Have Changed...

Recently I met an Iraqi vet who had come back from a second tour in the Green Zone. We asked about what he saw of American TV or how he got his news and he mentioned that Faux is almost mandatory viewing. That was definitely the case on his first tour and it was on everywhere he went. On his second tour, earlier this year, the mood was a lot different...he was seeing more CNN on in offices and said most thought Faux was a joke. They'd see the real Iraq and then the cartoon one Faux tries to sell and they know which is which. He also mentioned how many soldiers now go to the net for news and are looking at all types of blogs...trying to get around the filters.

One of the quiet stories of this ugly war is how the once iron-grip the Repugnicans and the right wing had on the military has disintegrated. This war is all boooosh's and his enablers, and those in the military will be long to forget. Note how we're not hearing the Repugnicans prop up the military vote anymore??
