2. Now that is good news and it is big news... |
|
Kerry and Reid seem to have their own inner-circle of Democratic comrades. That's not to say that they never agree. They do. However, both have pull from different areas of the party.
I say that this is superb news. I am more encouraged that a filibuster may happen and that enough votes (no for cloture) could become a reality.
Before hearing the news about Reid, I wasn't sure what would happen.
This is excellent news.
The Reps must be sh*tting bricks.

3. However, MSM reporting enough Dems don't support filibuster... |
|
...though they will vote NO on confirmation.
Fucking mind-boggling. They know better than anybody that a vote for cloture is a vote FOR Scalito.
But that rant's been standard around DU for the past few days, so...

4. I don't think the MSM knows what the hell they're talking about.... |

I recently posted about Wolf Blitzer's sickening and brazen attempt to squash all Democratic dissent against Alito. As I mentioned, Blizter said that a filibuster wouldn't happen and then he said, "When Judge Alito is confirmed, let's take a look at the upcoming cases he will be hearing."
Wolfy pretty much crowned Alito himself.
At this point, media members do not know what is going on with the Dems. My guess is that Dems are scrambling and discussing Alito right now. They are probably talking more about Alito and lobbying one another--more than they have since the Alito confirmation began.
This is a new ball game. Anything could happen. Anyone who says that the filibuster doesn't have a chance is lying. They don't know.
Kerry's initiating a filibuster, and Reid endorsing it--changes everything.
Maybe that is why the Dems rolled this out when they did. They wanted to have the weekend to do the hard work--without a lot of time for the media and the Republicans to play dirty tricks. Maybe the Dems show up on Monday and the revolution begins!
I doubt Kerry thought this up last night. Interesting also that Reid jumped on board so fast. This smells like a strategy to me. After all, Reid endorsed Meiers...and look what that did for Bush. haha. Kerry and Reid are smart men. It will be interesting to see what happens.

5. The media has stopped reporting facts long ago and simply |
|
regurgitate republican talking points so their credibility on this issue is non-existent, imo.
