Of course, my vote went into a Diebold card. No paper trail. No way to prove how I voted.
But at least I made them steal it.

It went smoothly.
There was a line...but not terribly long, about a 10-15 min. wait.
I provided my Voter ID card for ID, no photo, and had no problems.
I used the touchscreen, and it was easy, the printout and the screen both registered my vote correctly.

Turnout in my ward is pretty high. Over 150 have been out so far out of 400 voters. In the primary only 118 people came out at all. So this is good.

I vote every two years and the ballot gets sent to Germany w/o mishap, so I assume CA counts it. I think in that state, if you miss an election, you have to reactivate.

There were 5 voting units and all were fully being used...fully operational I then was waiting in-line with 10 ahead of me! All went smooth. It was also drizzling rain. I suspect a huge Ohio turnout. This is the first time I ever, ever had to wait. There were 8 behind me when I voted. :hi: :dem:

23. Went smoothly but I was VERRRRY worried |
|
I moved to a new address on Friday and the night before had gone to the USPS website to notify them; I knew there was no way the city was going to process this change and have me on the rolls by Tuesday. So, I chanced it by going to my old polling place. But it worked out, I was still on the old list. I happily voted.
It's very easy in NYC; they have the old flick-the-switch-slide-the-big-red-lever machines. They work great, I hope they keep them. I wouldn't want to vote on some computer, GADS! I already deal with PCs ENOUGH in my life, thank you please. This is PERFECT "technology," there's been no problems with it, they're not hackable, so why fix what ain't broken.
Oh, side note, I did make a mistake that I didn't realize until too late (I blame it on the early hour and still being in the yawn zone). I voted a straight Dem ticket, and beforehand I was going to vote for Shari Michaels 7th District Civil Court judge but I ended up voting for Rita Mella who is a Democrat running as a Democrat (a Democrat running as a Democrat, so novel!). Michels, for whatever reason, is a Democrat (all her endorsements are from high-roller Dems, and her literature EMPHASIZES that she's one) running under the Equal Justice Party (???).
OK, I guess I'm the goat, flame away...

25. Voter #13 at my polling place |
|
Kind of gave me the creeps, I'll admit. Hope it isn't an omen!
Polls opened about 5 minutes late - we have the new EVM - used to vote with punch cards and butterfly ballots - my guess is it took them a while to set it up.
The great thing is that Chester County PA offers both the EVM and the paper ballot (that gets scanned in). PA hasn't certified any of the machines with paper trails, so the county made the decision to do both to meet the requirements of the law but also offer a better option (read: recountable). The poll workers in my polling place had the EVM set up but gave everyone a paper ballot to vote on. No one was interested in using the EVM.
I took my kids with me so they could see the process. My youngest would only eat the Democratic donuts offered outside! :-)

26. No longer a voter here. Can't be bothered anymore. |
|
Been doing it for a hell of a long time now but it is clear to me that no one really represents my interests. E voting was the nail in the coffin. I used to argue with people including family over politics, now i realize that was stupid and politics are lame.
Good luck, I hope Dems can win but more importantly good luck getting them to do what you elected them to do.

Also good news--Republican hubby didn't even register in our new town, and so couldn't vote. He didn't cancel me out!

I live in a very small town. I wont post his name. He was at the primary poll a few months ago and he sits in the lobby and is in charge of the cookies and punch. But he started yelling out at people he knows, which is everyone, "your a demarcate" or "your a republican" when they would receive their ballots. The election monitor person walked in and told him to leave. :eyes: He left crying. Today he was just kinda hanging around.

I've also been handing out some Lois Murphy and Olivia Brady literature. Lots of people taking the literature, and a pretty good turnout. The only thing that bothered me was my machine not making a noise after I voted, but they said there is a paper trail.
