Remind Sen. Nelson that Many Many of us spend Vacation $$ in his state,
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 06:12 PM by MrsGrumpy
I am from Michigan and just did this via email...I also come from a snowbird state...and many of us "migrate" to FL when we retire...

Just a thought.

On edit: Sen Nelson is taking a tally in re: Filibuster, and only wants to hear from his constituents. :hi:

1. Wrong Nelson
the traitorious ass we're targeting is the Senator from Nebraska.

Though I'm sure Bill Nelson could use a little elbowing as well.

Get out a map of the US
close your eyes...place your finger in the center of the map. Welcome to Nebraska.

Or, possibly Kansas if your aim is off. ;)

Yeah, I know; it's the one from Florida. Nebraska probably has a bigger Cabela's outlet. In addition, there's a well known place in Nebraska for stargazing.

Twist It However You Want, But It Is Still A Proposal To Hurt Innocents.
Campaign to have Floridians vote someone else in the primary if you want, but recommending hurting innocents because you want to make a point to a Senator is most definitely not something I can ethically get behind.

15. Hey! How bout coming up to Detroit for a visit on your next vacation?
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 06:21 PM by MrsGrumpy
I didn't think so! I'll still put money into an economy...just another economy...one that wants me. Ethically, I'm fine with it.

and, on edit (sorry for disjointedness), lots of people were happy to turn their backs on my husband and his coworkers in the automotive field. :hi: Now that hurts too and yet....

16. Then Start A Thread In GD:EE Asking People To Vacation In Detroit.
These arguments are just silly. You, me and everyone else know what you meant. You are asking people to rally to the cause of hurting the economy of a state which in turn ONLY hurts the innocents, because you are bitter at the state's Senator. Spin it any way you want, but it is obvious to all here (whether they agree with me or not on the issue) what it is you are asking, since we are not freepers who believe spin as truth.

You are condoning hurting innocent people financially for vindictive reasons and I find that ethically troubling, that's all.

If you want to help economies in other states you can start efforts to draw awareness to those economies and why it would be a good area to visit. Explicity calling out Florida and in not so many words calling for a boycott of them, makes pretty clear your intent.

That's all for now. :hi:

17. Nopity nope...Spin it as you wish. And yes I am asking them to rally
to the cause of hurting Sen Nelson...

When You get on that little soap box in support of Detroit as an area of commerce and a place to find a good value in a vehicle...perhaps I will feel more ethically challenged. People in glass houses and all.

Take care now :hi:

21. Never Told You I Wouldn't Support It. But Once Again, That Isn't What You
are asking.

And once again your post is misleading. You aren't asking to hurt Senator Nelson. You are asking to hurt innocent people financial for selfish reasons which I obviously have an extreme problem with due to its misguidance, cruelty and unethical implications.

Course, let's be real for a moment, it would never garnish enough support to make anyone blink their eye anyway, but I'm responding more on theoretical grounds than grounds that this misguided notion would actually catch on to more than about 10 people...

22. Yes I am...OMC....Hope your next car is a Chevy...You'd really be helping
us out...and I thought you were done with this.

You prefer to look at it as misguided...But, Nelson makes that vote for cloture...I will never return to Florida for a vacation. Again, support Detroit so wholeheartedly.

Your opinion is duly bookmarked. I'll be looking for and expecting more of your selflessness and concern for your fellow man in the future. :hi:

23. You should expect that, and you should expect it from everyone.
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 10:04 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
As I do, hence the reason for my being 100% against your misguided suggestion.

And please don't mistake my conviction with this issue as one limited to Florida. Whether Detroit, Florida or my own state of NJ my conviction is the same. Don't hurt the little guy because of a selfish agenda that doesn't accomplish your goal (hence, why it is misguided). There are far better ways to hurt Nelson if that's what you choose to do. Your suggestion won't hurt him, it will hurt innocents; the little guy. Or at least it would, theoretically anyway, if not for the fact that you'd get maybe only 10 people to support this misguided ideal.

Sacrificing the little guy for a political agenda is what makes me so against the other party, with all due respect.

29. The Challenger Seems Really Cool Too. I've Always Been A Chevy
man since my 1980 showcar z28 (first car, beautiful, blue stripes white body done to the max). I'm excited about it coming back with the retro style and though it's just concept, I have a feeling they'll be quite agressive in attempting to get it to market to compete with the retro mustang.

My wife will probably want a minivan soon for our two youngins, and I would probably go for a chevy, price permitting.

A few months from now if that becomes reality, I'll make sure I let you know so you know I absolutely support our hardworking men and women in Detroit. :hi:
