I hate the goddamn media
Headline at Yahoo:

"Democrats Squabble Over Alito Filibuster"

The word "squabble" makes the Democrats sound like a bunch of bickering children. Do you think these jerks would use the word "squabble" to describe Reps?

7. They have been vicious on this topic ALL DAY, we must be getting somewhere
It's even getting stronger from what I've seen.

OVER AND OVER AND OVER telling us how this won't work, we don't have the numbers, blah, blah, blah

They are even trying to ridicule Kerry about flying in from Switzerland (gee, where were these fuckers when Tom DeLay was jet setting back in from SCOTLAND?). They called him a GULF STREAM LIBERAL.

And that was CNN - which sucks more conservative ass by the minute, but I thought I had actually stumbled onto Fox!

If this was REALLY going down in flames they wouldn't be so desperate to convince us.

Methinks the Media Doth Protest Too Much!

9. That article was pretty biased
It included Harold Ford's "Dignified end," and Scotty's jab at Kerry in Europe. Lots of rationalizing for the anti-filibuster.

I think that we can be sure that the media has been bought out by the corporations. Generally, in the past, journalists used to get kind of excited about this stuff -- you know, floor fight, rousing filibuster, shutting down the government -- anything that dramatic meant ratings. In the 90s, CNN reporters would have sold their own genitalia for something like a filibuster to happen. All news people would -- all news people that weren't "bought off," that is.

Fox "News" Channel used to be broadcast on just one station under the name "Fox News Channel". Now they are being broadcasted on three channels and under the names, "Fox News Channel", "CNN", and "MSNBC".

Just ten short years ago, the media would have loved a filibuster, as it brought in ratings and excitement. Now they just read talking points from Karl Rove.

The right wing is scared.

19. I"ve been pissed off since Kerry was supposedly hobnobbing in Davos
yesterday. He went to an economic conference as part of the Finance Committee and everyone from McClellan to the NYT is yucking it up about how he called for a fillibuster from the slopes of Switzerland as if he'd been on holiday.

I mean shit, the guy made an impassioned speech to his fellow Senators on Wednesday, flew out to Davos on Thurday, flew back to Washington on Friday to give another impassioned speech on Friday. The jetlag alone must be killer.

Hobnob my ass. Oh I'm so pissed at the NYT for printing that.
