Reminder of why DUers really should SHOP COSTCO!
http://www.buyblue.org/directory/48

Over $200,000 donations to Dems and NONE to GOP!

Not coincidentally, they pay workers a decent wage and healthcare, as opposed to WalMart et al....

Show em some luv this holiday season, shoppers!

PS -- the Sabra hummus is AWESOME! I took some to a party last Sunday with some of those LaBrea bakery baguettes and it was GONE GONE GONE in an hour.

3. No kidding! A new mega Costco is going in near by!!!
I've emailed to Meijer and Kroger both for supporting RNC, I will no longer be giving them business, I'm looking forward to emailing and calling them to tell them why.

Thanks for that!

15. You know, we got a mega Costco here in Chandler and I didn't see any difference
It was bigger, but so were the aisles and there didn't seem to be any more merchandise.
Hope yours is a definite difference you can see!!!

4. The tapenada they sell there is great, too.
And even their own brand coffee is strong and good, and way less expensive than regular supermarket prices.

Good place to buy Paul Newman's products, too.

5. No DUer should ever set foot in a Wal-Mart store.
They are 100% GOP, and very anti-Democratic.

I support Dem friendly companies whenever I can.

And I haven't watched Desperate Housewives this year after ABC's bullshit airing of Plan to Deceive. You have to put your foot down somewhere, and that did it for me. I will not support GOP-friendly companies anymore.

10. Be careful.
There are some posters on this board who love their Wal-Mart, and you'll have to pry it from their cold dead hands. Never mind that there are better places to shop that are bluer and better for Democracy. Gotta have their Wally World.

Note to disgruntled DUers: Yes, I know those of you in small towns have no choice. We've been over this before. If you have no place else to shop, I understand.

Those of you who have Costcos to shop at and still go to WalMart are defeating your own cause.

19. I recognize that choice is not necessarily an option for everyone,
but the facts are the facts. Don't shop at Wal-Mart if at all possible.

Support a local Dem friendly business. Your money will have more value and do more good than whatever value you get from saving a few bucks at the local Wal-Mart, which just gives them more money to donate to the GOP.

It's counter-productive.

When I meet ANYONE still shopping at Wal-Mart, I rake them over the coals and ask them why they hate America.

Dem friendly business or even just small local retailers. Tehy need our support far more than that behemoth.

In that time they have even opened up a new supercenter which I have never visited. Sometimes you do have to draw the line somewhere. Unfortunately, there is no CostCo anywhere near me.

24. Don't buy the salmon.
It's farm raised. That means it's raised in holding pens and the fish can't swim away from their own waste. As a result, they are given large doses of antibiotics as well as chemicals to color their flesh pink. Farm raised salmon flesh is naturally gray which is not appealing to customers. Buy only wild salmon. Same with talapia.

20. I LOVE Costco
I watched an interview with the President of the company about a year ago who was explaining that it is more cost effective to pay their employees well and to provide good benefits because they get less turnover and less theft. Just goes to show that treating your employees like actual humans is the best way to do business.

21. Once Identified As Dem Supporters, We Really Need To Patronize Them...
Just another example of what a company can be like that takes its duties as a citizen of the community seriously.

I would rather support those who make this a better country for everyone, than concentrate on boycotting companies who outsource our jobs, and value corporate profits over everything else.

In the end, the result is the same. And we can create the model that other corporations will want to copy because it is successful and profitable.

36. costco.com
Check out the services they offer via mail; the prescription costs (they also take ins.) are unbeatable, as well as auto insurance, credit card processing for businesses, and lots of retail stuff too.

Def if you get prescriptions from a mega-GOP-donator drug store, consider changing besides it's so much easier to get it through the mail!

If you do some comparison shopping you might find you can save some money AND support a Dem-friendly business. Their auto ins saved me a ton!

41. Okay, I'll check them out, but I buy my meds
from my small town local pharmacy, owned by people with whom I've done business for 35 yrs. They recently refused to fill a prescription called in by my Dr's office that was twice the amount that was safe - service that saves your life is worth a great deal, too. They're Methodists, who live their faith, and are Democratic/Greens. Also, I buy my auto insurance from the insurance co. down the street from them - at half the rate offered by anyone else, including online. I have to shop for bargains on anything I buy, so I'll check them out, but not for those things. Thank you for your suggestion.

38. You save SO MUCH MONEY!!!
Seriously -- if the membership is $50 a year an average family will save that much money in one month.

Costco pays over the minimum wage and health benefits to every employee. The CEO, who gets better returns for stockholders than Walmart, gets like $200,000 a year or so rather than the millions that most company CEO's get.

I actually pay the premium $100 membership, I get 1% back on all purposes which ends up paying for the new membership. Their auto insurance saved us almost $2,000 A YEAR!

Once you see how much money you can save on eyeglasses, groceries, film processing and lots of other stuff you will lose your attitude about the membership costs.

I never even thought about getting it through them but I'll look into it tomorrow. Thank you thank you thank you!

I ordered a printer from costco.com five minutes ago, and then I came here and see this thread. Yay! We decided to buy the printer through Costco not just because they treat their employees well (I'm looking at you, Wal-Mart) but also for practical reasons--great price and their return policy is totally awesome.

Costco is the best! Don't forget to use costco.com to send holiday gifts, too, even if you're not a member!
