Voted in Virginia about three hours ago, Webb people are
on top of it. A Webb campaign representative came to check in with the precinct supervisor while I was there, to find out how many people had voted. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE DEFRAUDED OUT OF THIS ELECTION FOLKS!!!!

It was a long line at mid-day, a very good sign for Webb.

On a side note, distrust of the electronic voting machines was Topic A for the line standers, and the precinct supervisor said paper ballots would probably be voted on in the next year or two. Vote electronically for paper ballots?

1. Great news!
It's especially good news that electronic voting problems seem to be conventional wisdom. Average voters now know what we all knew in 2002.

2. Where in VA did you vote?
I voted in suburban Richmond (west end/Henrico). I'm seeing reports of very heavy turnout all over the state.

5. Long lines in Fairfax Country should be good news for Webb -
I grew up in Fairfax County & still have family up there - they're all voting for Webb today!

4. The fact that the Webb follks checked on the number of people
voting not necessarily about election fraud. That has been done for years - use to do it myself when I lived in VA...it has to do with GOTV - we actually use to sit behind the sign in desk and check off voters as they came in so we knew who hadn't voted yet and knew who to still call to get their butts out to vote.

7. Just voted in Botetourt
There was a lady at the entrance door of our voting place and she asked if I'd like a demonstration on how the evoting machine works. My response was, "can you demonstrate to me how easily these machines can be hacked?" I don't think she liked that suggestion by the look on her face.

Overall, I was surprised it was so crowded. I didn't see crowds like that during the 2004 election. And it felt so good to cast my vote for Webb. :D

9. Good turnout in south-central Va.
Let's hope we don't hurt the positive results from NOVA.
