My selections were recorded electronically AND on paper. |
|
I was even allowed to review the printout before I left.
And, believe it or not, the printout shows each and every selection in detail, in plain English, in an easily auditable format.
I was at the grocery store.
After that, I voted.

1. Yes. But ensuring that people in largely democratic areas in Ohio, for instance |
|
don't have to wait 10 hours to vote on machines that are broken is an insurmountable technological challenge. :eyes:

2. you know...my touchscreen had the same thing |
|
there was a receipt of sorts, a printout to the left of the screen which printed out each selection alongside the screen.
I know there isn't necessarily a big chance they'd use those printouts in a recount, but at least the ES&S machines I used produced them.

3. That's very good to hear. |
|
I thought this was too simple for them to figure out.

5. You're the second person to say that. |
|
Did you get to read a summary, or item by item?
There's no way of going back after it prints, is there?
Thanks.

6. It was item by item, and at the end, there was an opportunity |
|
to change any entry before setting it in stone, as it were. I'm not sure how that would work, but there was an opportunity before the printout to change items, and also at the printout they asked if it was correct yes or no. So I assumed if you said no, there was an opportunity to correct, altho I didn't go back to use that option and see how it worked. The Pollworkers said these machines were "the Edge" machines. There were 2 of these and 16 machines with no paper printout whatsoever.
