What does Jeffords have to lose? |
He's voting no on Alito, but not supporting a filibuster. He's an independent who's not running again. Anyone know what's up with him?

1. He used to be a rethug |
And even though he caucuses with the Dems, he's still more conservative than most Dems.

2. He may feel that the nominee deserves a vote (up/down). |
He still can be convinced to filibuster. Remember, Jeffords is NO freind of Bush and Co.

3. He has nothing to gain by supporting a filibuster |
Remember he gave the Democratic Party a slim majority when he switched to independent and caucused with the Dems.
What did he got for his move to give us a majority? Nada, Nothing. Screwed by everyone. He has no loyalty to us and we don't deserve it

4. What if he doesn't believe that a vote on Alito should be blocked? |
Some lawmakers are funny that way.
