Can an election be invalidated? |
|
Anyone know if an election can be invalidated if fraud is shown. I've been reading this shit about the Rethugs all day. What can be done tomorrow if they steal some of these? Any legal experts out there?
I had no problem here in NY with our ancient mechanical booths, but my brother in SC voting on an electronic machine had to press the Dem in the Governor's race four times before the box lit up for him instead of the Repuke.

1. There is nothing in the Constitution about it. |
|
If we want a new election, it will be extra-constitutional. I know that this has been done in other coutries, but I don't know what the procedure is. I fear that it may mean invalidating the Constitution and starting with a new one. I don't want to go down that route. Some things in our current Constitution probably wouldn't make it in.

2. I asked this yesterday as well. Sounds like it takes an act of Congress |

There is no downside for the Rethugs if the steal this? If they win by cheating, they still win?

4. Since the secretary of state in each state is usually the one to certify all votes, |
|
I suppose it would have to be done on a state by state basis. Could invalidate results, I guess.
For example, Blackwell will probably invalidate Ohio's results if he loses the gubernatorial race.
