Anybody catch the "All Things Considered" hatchet job on Kerry
and the filibuster?

Melissa Block and David Welna stressed the inevitability of Alito and the unscathed way he came through the hearings, the usual Corporate meme.

Then Welna repeated the Scotty's McClellan's line about yodeling from Switzerland and chuckled.

They failed to mention Kerry was representing the US on the Senate Finance Committee (and ranking Dem on the Debt-reduction and Long-term Debt sub-committee) at the World Economic Forum. They implied he was vacationing.

They also failed to mention who else is committed to supporting a filibuster, with the exception of saying Kennedy was a supporter.

2. The press has decided..
.. that it has the power to influence the confirmation of Alito.

The owners and powers behind the press want him confirmed,
and it doesn't take an MBA to figure out why.

Of course, a government that is truly of the -people- would never
even have allowed him to be nominated.

3. NPR is now somewhere left of Fox and right of CNN...
and the sad new is that some long time listeners haven't noticed yet.

I guess in a republic moving toward fascism, an old friend who says "everything is normal" is comforting to some.

4. NPR's taken some serious hits.
I wonder what sort of pressure they are experiencing.

On the other hand.. here's some good news - GOP hatchet woman Pat Mitchell is leaving PBS:

6. Where have you gone, NPR? Once upon a long time ago,
NPR was the marvel of liberal media. "All Things Considered" was MUST-listening in my house.

I haven't been anywhere near them in years now, and this is so sad...and maddening.

9. That is because they are so glib. All that matters is the photo-op. And
the brain stem of Repuke supporters brains. The issues Davos is talking about - likely would never come up in conversation in the WH. Why Bush has to be kept all fanned and dump - like a Queen Bee.
