easy: dems -- DUers! -- taking the crap SERIOUSLY!

The only sane reaction to that pathetic meaningless shit is RIDICULE! Relentless RIDICULE!

If you react in any other way, give it even a fraction of a second of serious consideration, you need professional help!

1. Since when has reality made any diference to a country
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 09:52 PM by burythehatchet
with no serious media and no serious debate? The perception that Rove forms is what will hurt us. Reality be damned. This will be painted with the same brush as the windsurfing phote or the orange face photo or the hunting photo. All these bastards care about is the shitty spin they can manufacture.

I see a lot of references addressing Bush reading 'My Pet Goat' the day we were attacked. I have to ask what difference does it make? It's not like he did it on purpose--he could've been found doing almost anything else and that wouldn't have mattered either. Nothing was going to stop the attacks and, when he was notified of the attack, he stopped what he was doing and went to go deal with it. What on earth is the matter with that?

We can blame lots of things on Bush--but his reading that book to a bunch of schoolkids on 9/11 is a non-issue--it makes us look silly/petty/juvenile when we try and get some milage out of it.

15. You must have missed some points
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 10:50 PM by benddem
on Aug 6 he received a PDB that Bin Laden wanted to attack in the US. Before he went into that room he knew that one plane had smashed into the Trade Tower. The second plane hit while he was reading my pet goat. He could have excused himself, acted like a president and found out that a 3rd plane had been turned around and had turned off its equipment that allowed it to be contacted. That plane struck the Pentagon. The man is a moron. He was scared shitless. He knew he blew it. The Pet Goat is just symbolic of his lack of quality to be the President of the US.

18. How would you like it if your kid was in that classroom?
He had warnings that this kind of attack could have happened and if that's all he knew about the possibility of attack by plane - than what on earth would possess him to put all of those children in the same jeopardy that he might be in as Commander in Chief?

afterwards for a photo-op. If anything, his continued presence at that school endangered those kids.

20. Because he did do it on purpose.
He knew of at least one plane attack before entering the building but went ahead with his photo op.

You have a lot of catching up to do. Start here, The Complete 911 Timeline:
http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/project.jsp?project=911_project

Also familiarize yourself with the terms MIHOP and LIHOP. (Made it happen on purpose, Let it happen on purpose.)

Also remember the fool bush refused to testify under oath to the 9/11 commission, and only would give his story of events with "Uncle Dick" beside him.

like any such thing. Didn't you see Farhenheit 9/11? bush was told the country was under attack and he continued with his photo op and when he was finished reading the damn pet goat he got in 20 MORE minutes of photo ops. bush is NOT a leader..he's a DAMN Coward and an Idiot who just happens to be the front monkey for a cabal of Machivellian neocons.

23. He didn't stop what he was doing.
After he was told the first plane hit he went into the classroom. He was then told that a second plane had hit the WTC and just sat there for another 20 minutes listening to children read "The Pet Goat". At the time the two tallest buildings in America were on fire with 50,000 inside and it was believed up to 11 planes had been hijacked and he did nothing. Even worse considering that only he and Rumsfeld had the authority to order a shootdown.

Everyone I know rushed immediately to their TV's, PC's, 'phones to find out WTF was going on. Did you sit around for 20 mins doing nothing once you realised it was the biggest air disaster/terrorist attack in history?

25. I
I was sleeping when the first plane hit but being a junkie I fell asleep with pre 9/11 cnn on. I was pulled from my sleep by the devastation being broadcast. I was alert just in time to watch the second plane fly over Aaron Brown's shoulder and into the building.

Within 5 minutes I had called all my family to make sure they were in safe places and tell them I loved them.

withing 10 minutes I had called all of my friends to wake them up to witness history.

Within 12 minutes I had called my boss to tell him I wasn't coming to work, and called my subordinates to tell them to stay home.

While I did that BUSH READ MY PET GOAT.

30. "Mr. President, the country is under attack."
It was the only thing he was told. He is the only guy on the planet with the ability to launch the anti-nuclear missiles because he has the codes / keys, etc.

He sat around listening to a bunch of kids reading while nuclear weapons could have been pouring down on us. In this particular situation, seven minutes was two seconds too long.

The fact he wasn't immediately impeached is one of the greatest crimes this country has ever committed. Of course, since the Democratic leadership immediately began receiving public death threats in the form of "anthrax letters" (a still unsolved mystery), and the country was desperate for some "leadership" (which I don't personally feel was ever provided, but hey, some people found his presence "comforting"), for some reason, he was given a pass on this one.

Not from me. He choked during a crisis. There is NOTHING to say he won't do it again. (See "New Orleans levy breaks while no one tells him there is a problem for three days because they are more afraid of his tantrums than people dying.")

Shit. These people know better.

Scotty played the "elitist" card for all it was worth at the WH press briefing, but we expect him to shill. He's a jerk with no journalistic credibility, just another PR flack.

It was embarrassing -- and infuriating -- to see the people from whom I expect much better making clever comments about "Swiss ski resorts" instead of talking about the content and occasion for Kerry's remarks.

26. You mean Washington Whores On Parade? The Gwen Ifil Gabfest?
yeah- I DON'T expect better from Gwen. Whenever I see she's anchoring The NewsHour I turn it off.

WWOP was once a GREAT show! Paul Dukes integrity was unquestionable. His panelists as well. Hell, Ken Bode was even excellent. Whereas Gwen has Gloria Whoreger, Martha Ratzass, Doyle McAnus and Cici "I-singlehandedly-came-up-with-all-those-lies-about-Al Gore-and-made-millions-of-dollars-from-the-RNC!" Connelly. These are the cream of the crop from the world of Whoredom. Hell, the military industrial complex loves that show so much that Boeing is their main corporate sponsor now! Woo hoo!

And how 'bout that new portion of the show- "What Were They Thinking?!?!?" The premise- post embarrassing quotes from Democrats and give out an e-mail address for Freepers to write in and BASH them. This is journalism of the lowest order. Gwen Ifil is scum.

I realize I've been doing a hell of a lot of name-calling in this post but, if not here at DU- where?

Thank you very much for your kind indulgence.

28. ...and the PBS NewsHour
Those dipshits--Bobo Brooks, Mark Shields, and Jim Lehrer--JIM LEHRER!!--were all a-yucking it up over the whole Davos thing.

This "ski vacation" was, apparently, important enough for our Secretary of State to appear in via teleconference. But a Senator attends in person, and it's yuk-yuk time.

I guess PBS is just more corporate media. i know it sounds naive to say that, but I really thought they were a litte tiny bit better than that, despite the efforts by Bush to eviscerate it.

29. What's stupider? Calling for a fillibuster from Davos.
Can't say I know the details or if there was any reason why JK had to call for fillibuster when he did and could not wait until he got in the US - but he handed them a cudgel and they promptly beat him (and us) with it. Is it silly, sophomoric, asinine, meaningless etc etc etc - yes, but we know the way they play the game. Why hand them the talking point.

31. But they can create talking points out of nothing.
Remember when Ashcroft announced the arrest of Jose Padilla in America, from MOSCOW a MONTH after it had actually happened?

That seems ten times worse in terms of inappropriate timing and location than Kerry.

Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 01:05 PM by BlueManDude
and you know they have the media shills to push it.

It's like the Welsstone funeral brouhaha. I don't want to get into pissing match about it because I know how strongly people feel about Wellstone and the funeral - but I thought Mr. Kahn's remarks were ill-considered given the whole country was watching and we were heading toward a midterm election. Taken by thmselves there was nothing wrong with what was said but run thru the RW spin machine they were turned into some creepy, opportunistic statements.

We know they do this stuff. We know they have the power to get their spin into the national bloodstream. Kerry was not smart in this instance.
