Davos Economic Forum Continues
Look how many Republican Senators and members of Bush's Cabinet are STILL in Davos. If my calculations are correct, John Kerry would have had to jump on a plane the very second he heard that Frist had scheduled the cloture vote. These other Republican Senators apparently think they can phone in their entire debate on one of the most important votes that ever faces the country.

Michael Chertoff, US Secretary of Homeland Security

Robert Mueller, Director FBI

Robert Zoellick, Deputy Secretary of State

Zalmay Khalilzad, US Ambassador to Iraq

Paul Wolfowitz, World Bank President

Bill Owens, Governor of Colorado

Elaine Chao, US Secretary of Labor

Kevin Martin, Chairman FCC

Josette Shiner, US Undersecretary for Economic, Business and Agricultural Affairs

Faryar Shirzad, Deputy Assistant to the President, Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs, NSC

John McCain (R-Ariz.)

Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.)

John Sununu (R-N.H.)

Congressman Jim Kolbe (R- Ariz.)

1. Yep.
Someone pointed out elsewhere, that Kerry proved Davos is closer to D.C. than that school in Florida where * was reading about his pet goat, cuz Kerry got back here a lot quicker.

Meanwhile JK is harangued for being on a "ski trip" at Davos while the R's that are at Davos are just there for the World Economic Forum. :eyes:

3. Now isn't that the truth
Bill Clinton is speaking on climate change today. This is also where Bill Gates just announced his TB eradication campaign. Damned elitist do-nothings.

I just wrote the Herald and told them that if their readers ARE that dumb, then that only reflects on the job the Herald is doing informing them.

2. If we had a fair and honest media -
Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 02:43 PM by sparosnare
everyone would know that. Istead, people hear Snotty's dig over and over and are mislead; media don't bother to point out it's not true. Sucks.

7. Corporate media serving their masters - House of Bush and House of Saud.
Traitors - they refuse to have any real democracy in their newsrooms. They haven't in over a decade.

5. Will the Republican senators stay at the World Economic Forum?
Or is that just wishful thinking? It would be a shame if the filibuster succeeded because of rethuglikkkan elitist ski trips in Switzerland.

6. I suspect
That Billy the Cat Killer took travel time into account when scheduling the cloture vote.

It would be nice if that happened though. (Maybe we can get Swiss airport security to accidentally detain the rethuglican senators so that they miss their flight?)

9. Better yet, tell them they're on the 'no-fly' list and are stuck
indefinitely! :)

10. Post it around
Write letters. Make phone calls. I posted a media list in the Kerry forum yesterday. Just have to keep at them.

14. Uhm,
Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 04:09 PM by sandnsea
I don't see that it says Kerry jumped on a plane the second he heard that Frist had scheduled the vote. I don't know the time zones exactly, but to get back as quick as he did, he'd have had to have travelled all night and headed straight to the capital too, wouldn't he??

I didn't see that in the Media Matters report. ;)

Maybe we should suggest that they add that to their report.
