Maine Legislature: Dems pick up THIRTY SEATS in Maine House of Reps!
The bloodbath continues:

A powerful Democratic wave seen nationwide has definitely washed ashore in Maine. A one-seat Democratic edge in the Maine House of Representatives has ballooned to 30 seats for the incoming Legislature, according to the House clerk's office after staffers there analyzed unofficial Election Day returns.

Republican hopes for a resurgence in the House foundered even as a staff analysis of voting results in Senate races suggested that
the GOP would remain within hailing distance of the Democratic majority in that chamber.

Democrats said it appeared they had taken at least a bare majority of 18 seats in the Senate elections and at least 89 seats
in the House.

Heading into Election Day, Democrats held a 74-73 House edge over Republicans. The chamber also had one Green party member and three independents. In the state Senate, the numerical divide was 19-16 for the Democrats.

Good! In Maine, this was supposed to be the year that Republicans rode a wave of taxpayer revolt into power. But there was no such wave, and voters had different ideas.

LOL!

1. Oh yeah, Mainers had different ideas
They even shot down TABOR! We have the highest taxes in the Nation, and still Mainers voted for what was right.

Every election day I get more and more proud to be a (transplanted)Mainer.

3. Very good news. I'm a little disappointed that Snowe got such high numbers,
I expected her to win, but I was hoping a message would be sent.

5. Ya Hear That Senator Collins? Senator Snowe???
Is that a phone call from Harry Reid I'm hearing? Might be worth giving him a good listen.

Congrats to another state turning bluer.
