There is simply no excuse voting for cloture

We saw what happened a few months ago with the bankruptcy legislation. Lieberman, to use an example, cynically voted 'no' on the bill, yet voted to cut off debate.

These senators don't have to even vote 'yes' on cloture. They just have to abstain. It's better they don't vote at all.

Senators miss votes all the time, and I'm not going to buy some BS excuse from them about not missing this. For once it's better to sit the thing out.
