My fax/email to the so-called Democrats with fence-posts up their butts

Re: IN-Justices on the Supreme Court
Dear Senator __________:

In 1991, eleven so-called "Democrats" voted to confirm Clarence Thomas, arguably the least-qualified member of the Supreme Court in our history, by virtue of character and an ideology that's demonstrably antithetical to the values and principles of the Constitution he purports to interpret. Today, only one of those eleven remains in the Senate and he now calls himself, only somewhat less hypocritically, a Republican. Even the electorate catches on eventually!

Senators who call themselves "Democrats" currently represent a majority of the American people. A filibuster by such a representation is no more a "procedural maneuver" than disallowing evidence obtained by torture in a criminal trial.

Sam Alito is a demonstrated liar, hypocrite, and closet fascist who genuflects to the 'authority' of the privileged. He never saw an "interpretation" of the Constitution that favored the rights of the weak against the privileges of the powerful. His nomination was merely another abomination of the extreme right in a series of abominations.

A filibuster is not only well-advised, it's morally and ethically obligatory for any Senator not corrupted by power and bought by the moneyed interests.

Filibuster! It's cowardice and corruption not to do so!

Sincerely,

1. Yellow Dog
You know you are right. I have voted Demo. ever since I was 18. Now days I do not feel that I have left the Demo. Party , I feel sometimes that they have left me. Sure there are a few speeches that get my "give them hell" blood up. This does not change things , I will vote Demo. However the vote on cutting 40 Billion from the budget that Cheney had to come back for for instance. There Demo voted for that and three rep voted against it. Isn't that strange. And how did cheney know to come back. They had not taken a vote before . Did everyone ;just say that they were going to vote a certain way. The demo had no stragiety. one of them could have changed their vote at the last minute and won. The Rep said they were making efforts to cut the budget. However they had just passed a 460 billion dollar Military budget.

2. right on point
you strongly convey how crucial this really is for the future of all Americans. It is not just "politics" as some may have us think.

3. Thanks. I wanted to go right to the edge of civility ...
... without overt kook rhetoric. I used words I'd use if I had an eye-to-eye one-on-one with them at some 'meet-n-greet' house party.

5. Yes. I actually posted that link to another thread early today.
It shows eleven "Democrats" voting 'Yea' to confirm Thomas ... just like I said. Three less and Thomas wouldn't be a butt-plug for Scalia.
