Why would the repugs go Nuclear?

Couldn't they just wait out a Filibuster?

They would let us hold up the senate for several weeks, and then when the pressure got to be too much, someone would cave.

1. The pugs would go nuclear because it is their

goal to have power indefinitely. If they do not foresee a time when they are out of power then there is no need for a filibuster. They want to make the Democratic party so irrelevant that there is little if any chance of them ever regaining power.

2. filibusters don't hold up the senate. they just table the one issue.

filibusters that hold up the senate went away many moons ago. they live on only in hollywood.
