3. The point is

that a remark like that will resonate in the media for a long time, looks real bad imo. The fact that the dems fragment over shit so much while the pukes stay united right or wrong.

7. The point is, they write the headline.
And when I went to Google News, I didn't see it on the front page. From what I heard him say, he thinks a filibuster should be unnecessary but because the minority has no input it is what it is. That is no different than what i heard in his speech at the convention and the best way to avoid it is to get Dems elected.

2. he is voting against Alito & Cloture .....
end of story. Millions of $s are being spent to make it seem like Alito is a done deal
and the dem party is ripped apart over the filibuster.

4. where's the link
I'm sure you are correct in your statement but I'd like to read what he said rather than a parroting of the media interpretation.

What are his reasons and statements?

And BTW D. Feinstien of CAlifornia was against the fiiibuster early last week but is behind it now--just takes pressure from the voters.

5. This is going to haunt him.
I suspect that many of the Congressmen and women don't understand what the concept of "unitary executive" will mean for America. Ignorance is bliss until it hits you over the head and bashes your skull in. And that is what is going to happen to Congress I'm afraid.

8. Maybe these people in
congress think they're above all this shit. Maybe they are, just us "little people" that will be affected by what they do or don't do. It's like getting put in jail, you're all for the bad guy going down until you find yourself in the jackpot for some reason, changes your mind on things REAL fast.

10. Like a great many of our 84,000 members, I've spent
a ton of time these last few weeks, and particularly the last few days calling and e-mailing anyone and everyone I could think of to ask support of the filibuster of Alito. I am so glad Obama is not my Senator, I'd never vote for him again after his comment today. What good does it do to sit back and let the Alito nomination pass without some real effort at fighting it. Better to have fought and lost, if that is what happens, then to sit back like a puppet whose strings are being pulled by this ridiculous administration. What does he mean, over reliance on procedural maneuvers? Do we have any other immediate options? I find this statement offensive. Working in our own way to help make an important event happen is not a trivial procedural matter. Thank you Senators Kennedy, Kerry and all others who recognize that our rights are slowly eroding. We have backed all of you, its time for you to back us 100 percent. Every Democratic Senator from every state. Plus a few Republicans with a conscience and some foresight. What rights do you think are most important to you? Your children and grandchildren? How much backbone can you muster?

13. SEE! THIS IS ANOTHER PROBLEM we have to deal with!
Everytime a Dems opens his/her mouth to bash the party it's a HEADLINE FOR WEEKS! Obama should have kept his damn mouth shut.

14. What he should have done is talk about why
he is voting no on Alito and for the filibuster, instead of criticizing Democrats for not making a better case against him.

He was on TV. Make the case. Talk about why it is important.
