There has to be a thread on this. There could be some good stories here.

The one I liked was the guy in my office who said that Democrats won because of "illegal felon votes, dead people and illegal immigrants".

3. Nancy Pelosi!
They're sceered of her.

I also have a Bush-hating Republican friend who is convinced that the Republicans let the Democrats win as a part of a plan to win the White House in 2008.

5. Not one word.....
my mom is an evangelical repug and she has not called me...I figure I will give her a week to calm down. Im sure she is cleaning her walls right now since her head exploded. My husband has heard nothing from his family either and they are worse than my mom. His sister and her son bawled like babies when rush was taken of tv...go figure. So either their heads exploded or they are having their septics cleaned.

6. I live in a really really Republican neighborhood
and since I've had my signs in my yard, the neighbors have been really really nice to me (?!?) they seemed interested in meeting a real-live Democrat to see if we really can turn babies gay before we eat them.

7. actually..
one Republican congratulated me

one said he was actually glad that the elections turned out the way they did.

one said that he admired my conviction and actually voted for a few Dems (including Strickland for Governor) this year

one said he thought it might be a good thing to have some checks and balances.

one thought it turned out well and complimented me for my hard work.

Quite a few just said they were glad the campaign was over and they wouldn't have to put up with the negative attack ads any more.

A couple were silent about the situation, and I didn't press them.

11. be afraid, be really afraid...
My brother, big Rush fan, seems to have that mindset. According to him, we're going to get attacked by terrorist now and it will be ALL THE DEMOCRATS FAULT!
we've been safe for the last 5 years, but no more yadayadayada....

He had more to say, but most of it didn't register and I left the room shortly after. I was even more disgusted a bit later as I heard part of what he was saying and he said something to the effect of 'I don't care, the hell with it, as long as they don't bomb my house, I don't care'

Not surprising to me, 4 years ago when we had a Dem running for gov in our state his line was 'they're gonna come and take our guns away, well they'll have to pry mine out of my cold dead hands.'

If he was someone I could even stand to talk politics with I would have responded to the terrorist talk with yeah, like they came and got your guns sometime in the last 4 years hmmm...why are you still breathing?
