WTF? Bush wants to push thru a domestic surveillance program & Bolton?!
What a dickhead.

Dems bristle at Bush's push

On the same day President Bush promised a new bipartisan era, he urged the outgoing Congress to approve two of his most controversial ambitions before Democrats take the reins of power. He submitted the nomination of John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and said he wanted to move forward on legislation to authorize a domestic surveillance program.

23. they must humiliate him daily through shrewd political games
they can do it without seeming to be spiteful. They have the numbers. He can jaunt along like he's got his permanent majority. He will keep getting letters in the mail saying:

AS IF!

and then he'll get loaded down with bills he has to sign. And quite a few more he will have to veto even though his veto will make him look like even more of a prick.

This should be a fun session. Both the lame duck one and the soon to be convened new congress.

We need to reach out across the aisle to our kindly GOP friends and allow them to finish all they have started, or what kind of hosts would we be?

Didn't you get the memo?

It is like sharing among two year olds. Hopefully our keeping the powder dry leadership, having carefully tended their powder for lo these many years, can see past the latest ploy and move forward with all deliberate speed.

15. If the Republicans still in office go along with
the Shrub, then they will pay a price in 2 more years. I think most of them are crazy but maybe not quite so dumb. A lot was said last Tuesday by the citizens of this country. We refuse to be dictated to anymore. The very fact that Shrub wants to do this makes me realize he simply isn't all there. He has been miscast in the role of president. Thankfully, there will be no rerun in 2008.

16. Could Be Worse! If he Has Opportunity for Another Supreme Court Judge
Edited on Thu Nov-09-06 11:47 PM by DianaForRussFeingold
I hope Stevens and the rest of the Supreme Court judges are in good health. I thought he would pull this before the dems are nominated.Wesley Clark, Former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO giving America a call to arms about the dire state of our democracy under the current administration. Wes, a retired Four Star General, says that Bush was derelict in his duty as Commander-in-Chief! How about some billionaire spend a 100 million and show this 7 minutes on a few cable networks if they are worried about bush destroying the constitutional rights and unfounded war in Iraq. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6A0dG9mtno PS, Please Recommend and Kick General clark's video for the sake of our constitution!

22. he will be BITCH SLAPPED hard on this one
because there are a few lightly moderate GOP who will join forces with the NEW DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY to ensure these go down in flames just like anything else resembling his drunken NeoCon agenda for the world.

Look, sonny boy. You done fucked up. You have been fucking this country down into a deep hole and now you've done fucked yourself. Your pitiable little majority that was never more than a few senators and/or representatives in your favor has gone POOF. MOre often than not the states you travel to will have DEM governors and DEM legislatures. You almost singlehandedly destroyed your party's long term future.

Now you just SIT DOWN and do what the nice Democrats tell you. Not Demoncrats. Not Defeatocrats. The NEW DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY is going to steam roll your fucked up plans for our country into tiny shards and into the pavement.

But then again...maybe you don't know that yet. You are pretty stupid. After all, you were only the 300 millionth American to figure out Rummy had to go. Dickwad.

31. This is political strategy more than anything else.
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 01:48 AM by Harvey Korman
I don't think they're counting on either of these things going through.

They're doing this for the same reason they announced Rumsfeld getting fired the day after the elections: to try and create the perception that they're still in control of the debate.

Bush is now known as a lame duck, and they're doing what they can to offset that perception and reestablish his agenda-setting power. Which has, in reality, evaporated. Poof.

But they'll still try.

Maybe if they just "bristle" a bit more, they can use the shiny new non-veto-proof majority to clean out the Capitol rest rooms.

After they get permission from the Euphemedia of course.

38. C'mon Senator--who the f*ck are you?
:sarcasm:

'Corporism '.... and your leverage

Unfortunately, we didn't have access to the 'real math', because we(individual voters), cannot throw $$$$$ millions or billions $$$$ at our targets.

Take a look at what these assholes propagate. All the obfuscation and intentional alienation serves to divide and conquer. Divided we stand, because they have campaigned to break our trust. We are in limbo... or so they conceptualize.

Our only, and I truly mean ONLY, deliverance from the hell created by voter apathy, and their preying upon human nature, is to not be a statistically, predictable, entity. So think radically, act rationally, and let's surprise 'our gov't' with a duplicitous personality. One that actually benefits the people that hold democracy sacred.
