The Republicans are just now picking themselves up off the floor... |
|
It was a punch not unlike when Joe Lewis knocked out Max Schmeling and the good German did not wake up until about halfway across the Atlantic. Joe Lewis had regained the world championship for America. He was the people's champion.
Now the Republicans are just waking up from the punch that hit them on Tuesday. There have been a few groggy responses, such as those from Rush Limbaugh and George W Bush. However, the reality has not fully hit them yet. It will by tomorrow morning.
Expect more back-biting and finger pointing. They will never look at George Bush the same again. He lost the "Conservative Revolution" that was begun by Ronald Reagan. These people are not conservatives - they are big spending Republicans, they will say. We have to return to the principles of our "conservative philosophy, they will warn their fellow Republicans. We will be witnessing the chaos from a Party that just woke up and saw the destruction left behind by the American voters.

1. The republican devolution was always a farce. |
|
It was just used to fill a void because of the mistakes of the Democrats. Things have been cleared up and the republicans are back in their rightful place. The minority. Our current majority is larger than theirs ever was.

As soon as they clear the cobwebs, they'll gonna have to do a lot of dancing to survive the round. Fulltime investigations and a new Democratic agenda in 2007. They'll be defending 22 Senate seats in Congress and who'll be their candidate to run for President? McCain, Gulliani, Romney? Whoever, it's bound to fragment the base....FR provides a microcosm of blame laying that's underway. I see the religious fundies going in one direction, the libertarians going in another. The conservatives and moderates will be left to fight for what remains of the elephant's carcass.
Maybe he should just stay down and take a 10 count. :-)

...as pre-made DLC'ers. We're all gonna feel the effects of a Rethug party implosion. It's really gonna be a mixed bag.

6. I'd be happier with a dozen parties vying for power. |
|
Each Party could have their own agenda....clear and focused. A coalition mix could form a majority to run things. 2 Parties just can't have a platform that is agreeable to all the members. But the Right needs to fracture from its present constituted organized crime monolith. Once that happens, I think many Democrats will be free to pursue their political agenda outside the Party. It's really about big picture self-preservation now.
