E-voting reform. I haven't forgotten. Have you? |
|
First order of business for a new Dem Congress should be to restore integrity and confidence in America's voting systems.
I've just scrolled 4 pages of this forum and don't see much mention of that. Yeah, the Dems won, but does that mean everything is hunky dory?
PAPER BALLOTS NOW AND FOREVER.
John Spratt is about to get a letter from a concerned citizen.

and contributed monthly to Webb's campaign. The first thing I did when he was declared the winner was to go to his campaign website and beg him on behalf of all Americans to fix the voting system. No American in this century should have to go to the polls wondering if their vote will actually be counted, or if it will disappear or be switched. Voting should be boring. Waiting for the results should be the exciting part.

2. Howard Dean has already said this is high priority |

and I would imagine John Conyers and Barabara Boxer, to name two more, haven't been lulled into complacency about this either. It WILL change.

5. The first thought I had when Republicans were downplaying the Dem victory |
|
By saying that they were all very close races that just happened to tilt toward the Democrats.
Hmm....
Maybe the Democratic victory was actually bigger than the official result, but they could not dare risk stealing the election again, due to all the eyes on them and because the real margin was just too large. Which also allegedly gives them an argument that the Democrats do not have a mandate, and they have already been using it.
Risk having their past alleged victories uncovered for what they were or let it go quietly in the night and saved for another day?
