The last 6 years...There is a silver lining to all this

Eternal Vigilance!....I doubt I even understood what those words meant till very recently.

Eternal Vigilance comes from all too painfull lessons. The last 6 years of being batted around by bullies empowered by rigged elections comes to mind. The erosion of our rights & liberties...wich must now be painstakingly reclaimed...comes to mind. The obvious deceptions massed around 9/11 & our course to war come to mind. Then the dead...They also "come to mind" as if they are mere facts & figures but alas they are not. They are lives & hope lost needlesly. A mother precious gift stolen is a horrid horrid spector. We should never forget.

That is eternal vigilance. I doubt I knew what the word meant till now. I now know it means that there will always be those who are cruel. I doubt any polyanic visonary society could cure that so we must keep our backs to the wall-those of us who KNOW. The revelation was the enemy is within. While it saddens me as a realization-it allows me to move forward-with clarity & resolve.

I will return to fishing, collecting things that please me & most of all making sure my wife & 2 daughters know I love them every day. I shall do a slow weaning of political diatribe-a constant companion of sorts for nearly 2 years now. I will be optomistic & watchfull at the same time....

It all boils down to keeping hold of our forefathers vision of America. We just gave America a real fighting chance at making whole that wich has been torn assunder. Only eternal vigilance can realize that goal!!!

1. Yes that we should go to the school board meeting and do this

Vote for Civics to be put back in for every one. My God even this morning on C-span I heard a calling saying that we were in trouble because we were getting the church out of govt. These people want to move to the Middle East.

2. The silver lining is I doubt a Republican will win ANY majority for many years to come

But for me it was personal civics lesson(OUCH!) & I for one will never forget it...
C-span...Love that show. I have yet to review this mornigs episode (I tape 'em -left coast) but it never ceases to amaze the me. The mung & drool that passes for debate on thier side is sooooo predictable,they just pass the latest rush related furballs up with a fair hack & spew!.

We can never never replace the innocents lost. We can't undo the damage to our reputation in a decade or maybe even 2. But the only thing we CAN do & we MUST do is make sure it never - ever - happens again. Politics must be endorsed by the citizens & not special intrests. Restoring our reputation requires rebuilding our own democracy. The farce of building democracy of abroad is so specious. We can only lead by example.

Eternal vigilance to that cause is a hard learned lesson by our forefathers & I for one feel a taste of it now.
