The Bolton nomination is nothing but a line in the sand
that Bush drew and is daring the Democrats to cross.
He wants to come out of the gate showing the Dems aren't willing to compromise. Everyone inside the beltway knows it, including the media which is why they are egging it on.
It could backfire because American's aren't wanting to see Congress *compromise* with Bush. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt and threw it away.
They want to see Bush *compromise* with Congress.
Should be interesting nonetheless.
If Bush wanted to show anything except more of the same, they would have agreed on the first legislation that they could pass together so that everyone could look good and give American's a better feeling about the process.

1. Lincoln Chaffe might save this one.
His "No" vote will keep this in the Committee.
