The battle today is to get media to report the SUBSTANCE of the dissent.
I suggest we tell them STRAIGHT up to report the reasons why the majprity of Americans are against or unsure about Alito.

Because, so far, the news coverage has been leaving the facts about his past rulings against workers and consumers out of their reports.

Very odd, especially after two deadly mine accidents would have given the appropriate tie-in to the coverage. Who's side would a Justice Alito rule for when the mining case comes up - The Mineworkers seeking justice or the Powerful, politically connected mine owners?

1. This is exactly right.
We have already seen the media try to dismiss this as some sort of misbegotten adventure that Sen. Kerry thought up in Switzerland. It's about our future and the direction of our country.

It's about the Courts not granting to police the right to shoot a 15 year old suspect in the back of the head as he was fleeing with a $10 stolen purse. (Cuz I don't want to live in that country.)

It's about the Court not granting police the right to strip search a 10 year old girl without a strong warrant. (Cuz I don't want to live in that country.)

It's about the Court not over turning Roe v. Wade. I had a miscarriage once; I don't relishe the idea of police coming to my door and asking me to prove that I didn't do anything to cause the miscarriage. I have the right to medical privacy. I don't want to live in a country that would enforce laws that outlaw my privacy.

Thanks blm! You have been tireless.

2. I didn't think of the miscarriage aspect.
That makes it especially chilling.

3. AND it's about Honesty, and whether Alito has any....
He said he would recuse himself from Vanguard cases AND HE DIDN'T.

He put CAP Membership on his 1985 job application, but now can't remember belonging. IS HE LYING NOW OR WAS HE LYING THEN? Either is unacceptable for a Supreme Court Justice.

4. Media wouldn't touch this issue - WHY did Alito lie about it at all?
