Ford's "call me" girl not even from Tennessee but from....
My mother told me the local news did an interview with the "call me" girl from that horrible ad against Ford. It turns out that she is from Texas (surprise!) and not even from Tennessee. Apparently she said that she was sorry if she offended anybody. Has anybody else in Tennessee heard much more about her? I just found it interesting she wasn't from Tennessee but from Texas. Oh and my mother also said she is an upcoming actress and does a lot of political ads. I've never seen her before this one though so it must be a lot of local Texas stuff.

Wasn't reported main stream here on the ground
Although some news stations mentioned it in passing.

There were a lot of reasons Ford lost this election, so its tough to pin it all on her. Of course, she didn't help and should have known better but I guess she just couldn't resist the opportunity to get her face on T.V.

6. I'm not pinning it on her
I'm just saying how I thought it was interesting they couldn't even get a real Tennessee girl but to go to Texas and get someone. I wonder where those other people are from.

10. Oh I know you weren't, I was just stating
A lot of people around this and other board have been pinning his loss directly on this add. To be honest, we didn't see much of an impact from this add at all. Sure, it might have reinforced those who are predisposed to racism, but they were going to vote Republican anyway, so it didn't amount to much at all.

We saw a lot more people that were undecided (and had voted Republican in past)cast their vote for Corker just because Ford didn't show any distance between himself and Corker. Sure, there are differences, but on the big issues of the day, they were more alike than they were different.

11. That is true
I just think it was a lot of that. The ad didn't work here in Chattanooga since only 7% of the town voted for him. I wonder how many voted for that stupid amendment one crap. I just found it interesting how they couldn't get a girl from Tennessee to do that ad and they had to get an actress.

13. I'm sure they could have found a Tennessee girl for that ad
I ran into a lot of rich, daddy's girl - G.O.P. women during my time with the campaign (and my time growing up in this state)that would have been happy to have been in that commercial. I just think she was connected somewhere along the line to the people that produced Corkers commercials. She should have known better but I guess the lights and cameras speak louder than her ethics.

8. Yeah
If she said that to me I would ask her why she wanted to do this ad. It was really just a disgusting ad and anybody who had any type of decency in my opinion wouldn't have done that. But I am so proud that my city voted for Ford and not our ex crook of a mayor. So the people who knew him weren't fooled! Corker only got 7% of the city's vote. Ha!

14. She did it for MONEY! Do you know how hard it is for striving actors
to get offers for paying parts? I'm sure they love the political season almost as much as the media industry does. I'm sure, in many cases, the directors are looking for "the average looking person" to fill a crowd, or stage some scene. Most aren't even speaking parts.

I was rooting for Ford too, but I must tell you, my son was stationed in TN for two years when he was in the Navy. His wife told me it was the most racist place she's ever been! They both were thrilled when he was transferred out.

If you want to blame someone for the ads, blame the people who wrote them! And blame the people who PAID for them. But don't blame the people who are just acting in them. It's just another job.

17. Sadly no, it's not just another job.
I worked in the commercial industry out in California for many years. I was a camera assistant. I worked pay check to pay check. I worked freelance. Many times cash jobs would come over from europe with their big bags of money.

I had good contacts and was able to work on a lot of them. However, I drew the line at cigarette commercials. It was a hit for me financially, but at least I know I can sleep at night knowing that I didn't promote something that is known to cause cancer and kill people.

yes, some may look at it as a paycheck, but morals and ethics still exist in the job market regardless of the field.

So she is just as much to blame as the rest of them. And one more thing, they don't have a group of "stock" actors, all actors have to audition for any part the get, so she knew exactly what she was doing. And if she was a friend of someone and got the part, that makes it worse.

18. I honestly think you are one of a very few inany industry who has those
strong ethics. There's no doubt in my mind you turned down jobsbecause of your beliefs, but in all honesty, very few do. I don't think it matters much what industry it is either.

21. You're right, it doesn't matter what industry it is...
The sad lack of personal morals and ethics when regarding the world around us and the things that effect it worries me day to day.

No one cares, no one thinks of the larger picture and no one wants to take cause and effect into account.

I guess if people really cared more in general, we wouldn't have wars and global warming. Sign

always peace.

7. This also reminds me
of one ad Corker had of a bunch of people who claimed to be from Chattanooga and praise him but the local news affiliate (NBC I believe it was) told how over half of them were not from Chattanooga.

12. I am really sad he lost his well run campaign
I hope Ford sticks to his guns and come back to run again. I am convinced that he can win, and will make an excellent Senator, and is great material for the often mediocre pool of candidates for president that start the process of running for that office immediately after an election like this one.

15. Like that matters to the good people of TN! lol!
The only thing of any importance to the aggregate of TN voters is (jungle drums) another nigger coming after their beautiful white women (jungle drums).

The TN voting aggregate is second in my contempt only to that of CT.

(There almost certainly are worse voting aggregates - now that I'm geographically far away from them, my response is based only upon what makes it to me via the news.)

20. Maybe this actress can get a job in Leni Riefenstahl's next film
Since she doesn't get into the politics. She's just a professional doing a job. A real pro's pro that Johanna. She's no racist.

Too bad Riefenstahl is dead Johanna. Too bad for you. Too bad that hateful Nazi bitch can't make another hateful film starring a fucking "professional" like you. :sarcasm:

Yip, those NON-voters and NON-politicals sure know how to do damage while supposedly not participating.
