Need SHORT PITHY FAX Text
i am so tired of writing over the past 2 weeks. have emailed three times all 100 senators, called more than once all 100 senators and faxed all 100 senators twice. having to change message and content often, i am out of ideas.

can anyone write a very short pithy message to re-fax? i'm going to fax on behalf of my neighbors using their fax machine and using their names while they have to go to work. they didn't have time to write but want to help.

please?

3. something like:
Dear Senator,
Please join in the effort to filibuster the nomination of Samuel Alito. His views on privacy and the commerce clause are so far out of the mainstream of this country as to merit the effort to block him.

Judge Alito, as a Supreme Court Justice, would be making radical decisions that will affect this nation for 30 years. This is not a piece of bad legislation that can be amended at a later date. This is a lifetime appointment.

Sincerely,

4. this is good - any more?

...

i've tried the unitary executive, the mining regulatory cases, the warrantless strip search, the commerce clause, the nitpicky legalese alito uses in his opinions, his disregard for recusal...

more ideas welcome

13. I think his opinion on the unitary executive is the most frightening
of all this man's scary beliefs, against separation of church and state, anti-choice, not in support of "one man, one vote," etc. In a time when the unchecked power grab by this administration is major news, I would think that this would be the one which would resonate with most senators, no matter what their political philosophy. And we all have a right to contact them on this, since their votes affect all of us, not just those from their own state. And both Kennedy and Clinton made this the key part of their speeches. Just a suggestion, but I intend to emphasize this. That's my advice, and thanks!:-)

5. This quote from Lincoln
was on Daily Kos. Perfect for the DEM Senators.

Neither let us be slandered from our duty by false accusations against us, nor frightened from it by menaces of destruction to the Government nor of dungeons to ourselves. LET US HAVE FAITH THAT RIGHT MAKES MIGHT, AND IN THAT FAITH, LET US, TO THE END, DARE TO DO OUR DUTY AS WE UNDERSTAND IT.

7. Another one
Dear Sen. X,
I am writing to urge you to oppose the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito, and and support a filbuster and further debate over this.

There are so many critical issues involved that a filibuster is necessary to publicize the dangers of his appointmnent. Recent polls also indivate that a significant number of Americans are either uncertain about Judge Alito or do not know his positions. A filibuster could bring out the issues that would cause many Americans to become opposed to his confirmation.

Thank You.
