some Republicans . . .

Dear XXXXXX

I am writing to urge you to please support John Kerry in his efforts to block, via filibuster, the the appointment of Judge Alito to the Supreme Court.

The appointment of Judge Alito is a travesty against the Constitution, as is any appointment that puts a person in power who would support the concept of a unitary executive and ultimately put more power in the hands of a single elected official than is permissible under the Constitution.

Laying aside the reprehensible opinions put forth by Mr. Alito in the past, ranging from approving the strip searching of a 10 year old girl, to protecting the rights of corporations over the private citizen (both of which are matters for extreme concern), the entire concept of a unitary executive outweighs them all.

When you couple his belief in the unitary executive theory with his prior activities such as membership in clubs seeking to bar women and minorities from attending Yale, you end up with a man with a known and proven record of bias and bigotry who believes that one man should hold sway over the three branches of government.

This is contrary to the Constitution in so many ways as to be laughable if it weren't so frightening in it's long term effects.

I urge you to do the right thing and do everything in your power to block the appointment of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.

________

Why, you may ask, did I focus on unitary executive instead of any of a myriad other issues? Because it's the one issue that everyone on the list of recipients should be concerned with. Not all are pro-choice, but all should be interested in maintaining their own power in government. It's that simple.

1. good for you here's mine.....
Dear Senator
I do not support a judge (alito) who supports the STRIP SEARCHING of 10 year old girls. I have 2 young neices who will soon fall victim to wicked perverted cops. Do we Americans take that chance? Please, seek out a woman,or moderate judge for the Supreme seat. Also..
Any judge who puts the burden of proof upon a mentally challenged individual that get sodomized in the workplace need not be a Supreme court judge.. alito ruled that man prove the workplace was HOSTILE.
One other disturbing thing, alito was not FORTHCOMING with his testimony, threats of subpoena were mentioned. This man will have a seat for life. Find America a more moderate judge.

Please, find "We The People" a more worthy candidate..

Thank You
