Was Pat Tillman intentionally shot by an American sniper / his own men?
One investigator told the Tillmans that it hadn't been ruled out that Tillman was shot by an American sniper or deliberately murdered by his own men -- though he also gave no indication the evidence pointed that way.

"I will not assume his death was accidental or 'fog of war,"' said his father, Pat Tillman Sr. "I want to know what happened, and they've clouded that so badly we may never know."

And so, almost two years after three bullets through the forehead killed the star defensive back -- a man who President Bush would call "an inspiration on and off the football field" -- the fourth investigation began.

This time, the investigators are supposed to think like prosecutors:

Who fired the shots that killed Pat Tillman, and why?

1. Well he was missing half his head...

..and someone evidently tried to perform CPR on him 3 hours after he took 3 bullets to the face, then they burned his uniform, etc.

Covering up evidence much?

Two posts and no donation? And just to clarify, discussion about a dead soldier is not "fun."

They wouldn't, but it's fun to talk about, isn't it? Conspiracy theories are so much fun!

If you think talking about a dead soldier is fun, I think you're at the wrong site. Try www.freerepublic.com They enjoy dead soldiers as they are quite excited about the Invasion and their chickenhawk leader.

10. Fragging isn't unknown but just because something isn't ruled out.
doesn't mean it's the answer. In the fog of war, LOTS of soldiers get killed by other soldiers from the same side.

27. Oh, fun!
We have a troll on board. And not a very bright one at that. Again, I will assist you with your less than stellar writing skills.

He was with a friendly Afghan and was fired upon by accident by some Army Rangers. Those Rangers are no longer Rangers, but are still in the Army. This was on a show on TV a few weeks ago, where they talked to soldiers that were with him. You must've been busy digging up conspiracy theories and didn't catch it.

For writing syntax, spelling, grammar and punctuation, assuming you're an adult, I'd give you a D.
For clever and witty repartee, you fail.

Direct your browser to www.freerepublic.com They would be more appropriate in terms of writing and repartee.

9. His diary is missing
I read that Pat's brother said Pat was chronicling the **ck ups in Iraq and was going to lay into Bush when he got out of the service. I have this feeling he was snuffed out to keep the contents of that diary from tomb stoning the Bush Doctrine.

19. Pat Tillman had a "Mom's apple pie" image and was looked upon
with awe for giving up the riches of life (multi-million dollar football contract) and had that chiseled jaw and body kind of look that appealed to all who followed his story.

Michael Moore has been denigrated for his weight, his looks, and I have even seen references to body odor. MM has been an easy target for Freepers and neocons like yourself, so considered of little threat to the Bush Cabal.

Nice debunking try though.

I've never once seen one shred of proof that what he says is wrong- all the while, MM gets his info from public sources. Imagine that.

31. Huh?
No explanations, you're a bitter and blithering idiot who can't accept the fact that this time, the voting was monitored like never before and nobody fell for the reich-wing bullshit anymore. Facts and common sense will always win over lies and stupidity in the end.

And, while you're here for your short stay, try the "Check Spelling" button. It would help you look not quite so stupid.

"All four failed to identify their targets before firing, a direct violation of the fire discipline techniques drilled into every soldier."

29. "Failed to identify" my ASS!!!
During the firefight where Tillman died, he was receiving incoming friendly fire and knew it. He yelled out, at the top of his lungs, "I am Pat Fucking Tillman, God Damn It. Cease fire!"

They knew EXACTLY who they were shooting.

Moreover a quote from someone actively investigating the crime.

22. My theory? Shit happens.
Same holds true for the poor Marine Reservist from Utah whose head was run over by a humvee.

Yes, the Tillman death needs to be investigated, as do all such deaths.

But sometimes, there are no good answers. Shit just happens. This has been true in every war the U.S. has ever fought. It's also true for the guys on the other side.

What's amazing is not that Tillman was killed by friendly fire. What's amazing is that more things like this don't occur on the battlefield.

23. It's not a pleasant thing to investigate potential injustices, but it is necessary.
If this incident had happened to any one of us, or someone in our family and/or our friends, we would want the truth to be known of what happened, namely so that it didn't happen again.

If the truth is not fully examined, then the fact remains that others remain vulnerable and at the mercy of those who may be harming and/or killing innocent, good, decent people.

Pat Tillman was loved. He was admired. He was a good person.

Moreover, he had gone beyond the call of duty and voluntarily put himself on the line because he believed it was the right thing to do.

Don't we owe it to him and to other troops, and to all Americans at large to find out the truth?

Doesn't his family deserve the truth? His parents? His brother Kevin?

The least Americans can do is be willing to honestly seek the facts as to what happened.
